O.k, now for us non techno guys. If I buy this, what do I need to use it as an external hard drive to back things up? Cables, software, etc. Thanks.

This is exactly what I'm looking for, just don't know how to set one up. I have 3 computers I need to back up, they don't have that much on them, but my stuff is scattered across all 3.

Should come with everything you need to copy files over to. Windows has some built in tools to back up basic data.

With this deal I believe you will need to install the drive in the enclosure. Which takes about 10 minutes to do. If you can follow instructions you should be able to put it together just fine.
