I'm thinking of buying a laptop for myself and I don't know a thing about what to look for as far as features go. I'm not looking for the latest and greatest just somthing that I can use to draw with autocad. My price range is about $500 to $750. Reliability is more inportant than cool features.

Any help is greatly appreaciated

Thanks, John.

There is a very big difference in a $700 Dell laptop and a Dell XPS.

Every cheap dell product I have come in contact with led to problems and little or no warranty support

I have a Toshiba Satellite laptop I bought for $550. I had to get more RAM for it because Vista is a RAM whore ($50 for a 2GB stick), but for $600 I am totally happy with it.:D It's only 10 months old so far, but no problems.

I got a Toshiba because the old Satellite I used at work worked great for 6 years with a bunch of guys treating it like a red headed step child. It still worked when our IT guy decided to "upgrade" it.:censor:
