toy axle or D30? What size tires you plan to run, 35's? What rear axle is it, any gearing? Probably be hurting without some tcase gears. I see an underdrive in your future.

D30, 35' for now 38 when i start cutting body pannels, im un sure of what the front is but i got 4.10s out back, being turned by a fully built 4.3L motor 7gs worth of engine work...plus the ability to throw a 200 shot of nitrous on top of that

I like those little Jimmys, I robbed one for my 4.3, CMFI. I am thinking of doing some performance mods to mine. Is yours throttle body injected? I've heard they are easier to modify than the Central Port Injected? Does the throttle body injected use a Mass Airflow, or MAP? I guess changing the cam, screws with the MAP, is there a way around this? What mods have you done?

Anyway, nice rig, are you gonna be runnin some 44's on that D30 to fill those wheelwells a little?

The multi port injection uses both map and maf, for the moment i just raised my fuel pressure 5-10 lbs for a quick fix, but tunercat makes editing software to change fuel and spark maps

as for mods:
2.02, 1.60 valves w/ Comp high rev springs, Ti retainers, full PNP, 10.5:1 CR, eagle H beam rods, Forged flat top pistons, billet main caps, custom ground cam, full 1.6 roller rocker, studded head, main, and rockers

I question the D30 choice for a front axle when you plan on starting with 35's and eventually going bigger. It should hold fine for light duty use, but get that thing in the rocks, and parts will start breaking... Especially with a high HP mill.

At a minimum make sure you are running 297 shafts. Even then I would make sure and carry a spare set of shafts anytime you venture off the pavement very far.

Then again, if it was cheap, who cares... Run it till it breaks then figure out something else to do. I would just caution against really sinking money into this thing when there are so many other easy options for stronger axles out there...

I run a dana 30 w/ 35s you will definitely break them FYI, when you do get some chrome moleys for the dana 30 and you will be good to go. I drive the hell out of mine and they dont break anymore. Truss the housing and you'll be bomber proof for 35s. If your going bigger get a 44. What kind of rear end comes in that is it a 10 bolt or 12 bolt?

10 bolt rear...I'm doing a dana 30 to start because of how it bolts up with little modification, when i do go hardcore i will go with a full long arm tri. 4 link. This was a cheap project...and i figured its better then stock better then stock...

The 4.3 Vortec came in either Throttle Body injected, or Central Port injected (Central,Multiport,Fuel,Injection) which is what my 95 is. I know some changes were made after 95, but I have never seen a true mult port induction on these motors.

My CMFI does not use a MAF sensor, only a MAP. At an internally regulated 55psi, My high pressure Holly fuel pump runs unrestricted to the internal regulator, making it impossible to raise fuel pressure.

Your 99? Vortec is OBD3, making your tuning programable? My OBD2 is not. I hope to be able to get a chip to compensate for any engine mods I end up doing. Your engine mods sound sweet. I would like to do something similar, Probably lower compression for todays watered down gas, but I hope to see that thing in action.

Post a picture of your induction, I am curious if theres a true multiport system maybe I can adapt it to mine.1352

I have both a mpi and a csfi manifolds (csfi was released after cmfi, noted by metal lower and plastic upper manifold)...i had to custom make the mpi manifold but it can be done...and tunercat does have tuning software for OBDII computers and you can raise the fuel pressure but installing a high pressure return style regulator in the return fuel line, it acts almost like a FMU. ALSO: on a bad news note it looks like my block is cracked...which is BS...More pics of the teardown to follow...

Bad news on the block.

are you building a rice rocket, or wheeler? :) You could dropped in a brand new 350 for that much couldn't you of?

Oh well you probably won't have many issues drag racing that thing with a D30 :)
