I have a question for the computer savvy. I want to get a small laptop just to use to surf the web, check emal, online banking, and web cam etc. I saw THIS ('http://eeepc.asus.com/global/product1002ha-spec.html') the other day in blockbuster and was wondering if any1 has seen these or had any experience with them. If I had my druthers I would get a mack but they are out of my price range.

Get a Dell Mini 9

I am pricing one out right as we speak. ~$400 with 1Gb ram, 64Gb SS harddrive and Ubuntu.

The "Netbooks" have been a pretty hot item the last year or so, they hit a sweet spot between price and function for a large portion of people who use their systems for mostly web based functions. They will hold up to light computing pretty well, but won't do hardcore gaming, or graphics intensive stuff too well (heavy photo or video editing).

They can be had for between $200-400 right now depending on how they are outfitted.

I like the EEE systems. The Mini 9 is good too. But Apple is coming up with something new soon, so I'm waiting to see what it is before I do anything.

eee Storage is an online storage/ and backup service.

You will not get 160GB of Solid State storage for that pricepoint....

It is a platter based hard drive for sure.
