I held up the show how is that? The roll over held up the show and the rubicon unlimited with the broken axle shaft slowed things down alot more than me? o i see just picking on the little guy that made it up that canyon with open diffs and only had to get tugged twice, there were rigs way more built than mine that had to get tugged also.

X2, if you've already won, let someone else have a go. There are enough built rigs that we don't need to recycle, even if the guy has 2 great rigs.

*edit* looks like Denis just canceled out my opinion, lol

I still say it is lame for the same guy to win twice though

I'm not bashing you and your wrangler. Very capable LJ and you do actually use it. What I am saying is that I see more and more shiny, blinged out, pavement pounder wranglers more and more anymore. Especially with the JK. I don't want to start anything but you have to admit that more and more people are buying wranglers as a status thing and never use them.

So, people don't seem to understand what I was trying to say. I said that Alan wheels his XJ harder than most people week their Wranglers on 35s. And I am still going to stick to that remark. Alan wheels the shit out of that XJ. How many people on here would dare take their jeep through little Sluice? I can drive through the UNR parking lot right now and see 5-10 or more Wranglers (mainly JKs) with a lift, 35" tires, and Chrome wheels. There are also a lot of people with 35" tires and 15-17" steel wheels (even some people on here) that still don't want to scratch them. My comment was directed towards them. I can understand that you don't want to scratch your DD, thats why instead of selling my truck and building a DD jeep I bought a cheaper yota so I can have a trail rig and a DD all while spending less money. Those people that wheel their jeeps like jeeps were meant to be wheeled (like john, xantasm) are exempt from my comment. Not only are jeeps like his capable but also used. I have pictures on my phone that he sent me from last weekend to prove it.

Now, as for the "I'm hating on wranglers because I own a yota" argument. If nobody noticed I nominated a jeep. Jeep guys give yota guys shit and yota guys give jeep guys shit. That's the way its always been. It just seems like some jeep guys take it too seriously. You should have heard me and Alan all weekend on the con. We were at eachothers necks about jeep vs yota but in the end we can both agree that they are capable rigs.

A lot of people buy "off road vehicles" with no intention of ever getting the tires dirty. How many Escalades do you see on the trails??? They think big tires and a lift make it look "cool" even tho they are just mall crawlers. This is true across the board with all makes, not just Jeep or Yota.

my point here though is that the Wrangler is the only factory built solid axle purpose built for off road rig (that i can think of). most of em dont come with things like ABS. so why buy it and not wheel it? we have had a few and i can tell you they are not a comfortable DD. i would only DD one if i were to actually use it. others buy them for a status thing and never take it off road or to HLT. i really dont want to start something. this isnt the thread for it. i was simply saying something about my nomination and people made it get way out of hand. regardless, i will contine to stick to my statement. and for those of you that dont agree you have never been wheeling with alan.

Just my opinion and not meant to piss anybody off, but rather offer another side of the story.

Asking why Wrangler owners don't wheel their Wranglers all the time is like asking muscle car owners why they don't race their cars at the race track every week-end. Some times you just want something for what it can do when you need/want it. Some people buy Wranglers because if they need the performance of a 4 wheel drive vehicle, they have it.

I have owned a 2 Wranglers, 2 J-10's, an Avalnche, a Bronco II, a Silverado, a Suburban, a Nissan Pick-up, and an Explorer. All 4 wheel drive. Some I wheeled hard, some, not so much. Some of it has to do with being your DD or being something you weren't afraid of tearing up. Some people aren't comfortable doing big rocks or mud. Some of it has to do with available time or finances. When I was much younger, yes, before some of you were born, I used to wheel my stuff almost every week-end, including sanctioned Mud races, but it can get pretty expensive both in time and money, fast. I'm at the stage now where I still like to go and challenge myself/vehicle, but I don't want to roll it, or spend a boat load of money fixing it for a couple hours of fun.

I'm just saying there's lots of reasons. Don't be too hard on the casual, occasional wheelers. ;)

http://www.amazon.com/White-Funny-Rated-Vinyl-Sticker/dp/B003MRU12K
http://www.jeepinoutfitters.com/scripts/prodView.asp?idproduct=338

And yes JCR makes them for Cherokee's http://www.jcroffroad.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=MLLRTD&Category_Code=XJMISC

I'd have to get em to custom make me one for an Unlimited LJ cause the only have ones for the shorter TJ lol

I was told by the Zuk community that it's the spirit that counts.

My thinking on it:
1. It has the Samurai hood and grill
2. It's small and light
3. It has a common Samurai engine swap (VW TD)
4. I really like Samurai's.

I'm thinking my next buggy when this one gets too beat up will be the Wicked Mini. I'm going to get a new Mini Cooper (used/wrecked) and have Smash put some magic grinder dust on it and wheeling it like no other.

Phill you just need a fold down sammy windshield frame minus the glass to finish the Samurai look. Also consider painting the sections of frame between the side body panels just on the door section matching white so it looks all one piece. Other than that your buggy looks ass kicking.
