We just go thome from a trip east. Explored a whole bunch of very nice trails around the Belmont/Hamilton area. Not real technical, just pretty.

Can you hook me up with some directions to where you went? I am looking for a place to do some "light wheeling" tomorrow... Shoot me an e-mail at weerod@aol.com

Well Ely is way too far away for a day trip...

Nooch, I suggest Peavine mountain. It is "light wheeling" for the most part. There are a few different access points - here are a few that are the easiest to describe.

Hoge (sp?) Rd. - Old North Virginia St. go past Parr Blvd. One of the streets on your left is Hoge Rd. follow it up until the pavement ends.

Cold Springs - 395 North to Cold Springs Exit (#80 I think) turn Left toward the hills. There are a lot of trails up there. Watch out if you follow the train tracks - very steep decents and climbs and some nasty mud holes. Instead try on of the two trails that lead up the mountain. Not too difficult but fun. Don't get lost!
