Loaded up for fun!!

Its a 1976 CJ5. Rebuilt I-6 with Howell fuel injection, Dana 300, T18, Dana 60 rear, Dana 30 Front, Detroit Softlockers front/rear, 33s. My little jeep does rather well - very reliable. I do get hung up on the bigger rocks around here where the shorter wheelbase is a detriment. Sometimes being narrower than YJs and XJs allows me to squeek through some obstacles.

See you on the trail!!

Welcome! My friend used to have a CJ5 and we called it a rollerskate, cause it drove around the obstacles instead of over.

Nope had to be winched on the last one. It was getting late and dark, so after a few minutes of trying I had to get pulled. :(

Was happy to get up everything else though!

The last (2nd to last really) waterfall is not easily done in anything shorter the 92".

Nice Rig, see you on the trail, when I get mine put back together. Are you going to Moab next year? We had so much fun this year, we will definately be going back.

Yeah I was with a guy in a Rubicon Unlimited and he made it look easy. Been eyeing XJs lately . . .

Doubt I'll make it moab this year. Too many other things going on.

Thanks for the comments everyone!

nice rig, how do you like those bfg mudd terrains, i was thinking about getting them.

They are all I have ever used. Kind of the standard against which other off road tires are judged. Several have very deep gouges in the sidewalls, yet they still hold up. They wear well for street use as well.

Several of my trail buddies say the pro comps are better though.

i've had the bfg mud terrains, the all terrains (old style, not KO) and they're both pretty good tires. the mud terrains are almost scary on the street if it's really wet. the all terrains will get you through most anything except for mud and sand. right now i have wrangler MT/Rs and i like them better than the mud terrains. they're alot quieter and they seem to wear better on the street. they're just as aggressive but the lugs are sorta closer together. the only thing that really sucks about them is they sling little rocks like crazy. so as soon as you go from gravel to pavement, you'll hear a buncha little rocks hitting your paint for the next 1/2 mile.
