Thanks again everyone!

David, Sounds good. I haven't been up Jumbo for quite some time. Would be a good place to get used to the new Jeep in this stock form.

But that won't last for long......

I hope to have a new Nth Degree 4.5" lift on in the next couple of weeks.
35" MTR's, 17x9 black Rock Crawlers and Staun bead locks at the office awaiting my lift.
Schrockworks sliders coming in on Friday
Schrockworks stubby style front winch mount bumper that I'm waiting on them to finish.
Warn PowerPlant HD at the office awaiting the new bumper.
LoD rear bumper/tire carrier in route.
I have some driving lights to mount.
I am looking for a source for some rock lights.
CB, 2meter and GPS is installed.
Scanner in route.
Probably some Tom Woods drive shafts after the lift.

Then I think I'm done for a bit. Yes I still want to use it as a daily driver but also have some fun too!

Does anyone know of a good tire shop where I can get my Staun bead locks and 35's mounted?

I always wanted to go down and check that out. I drive to vegas every couple of months and always pass by. I should stop one day!

Nice looking Jeep. Good color.
How are the 4 doors and the interior room?

How are the 4 doors and the interior room?Yeah I passed the tunnel a zillion times myself. I just made a trip back from New Mexico and said this time I'm stopping. Glad I did it was pretty cool although it could use some policing as it appears to be a party spot.

I like the 4-doors as it gives me more passenger room. It sets it apart from the 2dr that's for sure. The longer wheel base of the Unlimited got me excited about the Rubicons and the 4-door just was icing on the cake. The interior room is great up front and not bad in back. Certainly more room and easier to get into than the FJ. And as far as overall ride, room and comfort.... the plate reads GP LIMO. :D

Tonights pics are the preparation of taking off the doors, removing the windows, adding mirrors. Tomorrow night should have some actual trail pics even if it is a shake down run to get a feel for the new ride and to have lunch in Virginia City. Hey Pa, I'm just going to go get the mail. :D

I liked this idea so much I went out and got a cheap set of mirrors. I will improve upon the mount some with some more rigid material for the arm. But it should work good enough for the federalies up in VC.

This won't really be my first off-road with the Jeep but it will be my first time I actually did a run with anyone else. I will use the trail to test the sidehilling and get used to some more trail characteristics that I wouldn't test out alone.

Again tomorrow night I'll post up some actual trail shots.

You mean this one? :D
http://www.mjw.com/amigo/fordyce-02-07/images/DSCF0020.jpg

1998 Isuzu Amigo w/ 3.2L DOHC V6
K&N, Pacesetter headers single glasspack
Toyota R151F (Don't tell the Toyota guys this is pretty much a direct bolt up)
Dual 4:1 Marlin Crawlers Making the ratio 500-something to 1
D70 Rear with 5.13 and ARB's
D60 Front with 5.13 and ARB's
Full disc brake conversion
39.5 TSL/SX's on black steelies.
Racerunner coil overs 12 and 10"
Howe pump (TJ) with hydro assist
Custom 35+ gallon gas tank

Other than that, it's pretty much stock. :D

I would like to rebuild it, tube style then lower it and re-skin it with an Amigo skin. I stood it on it's tail on the wall on Fordyce (winch hill #3) and thought to myself as I teetered back and forth, I should probably put in a cage or something.

This is the 4th body on it and it's getting too much to find parts. Plus damned Isuzu stuff is expensive. It still currently runs but the coil overs need to be relocated to a less than straight up and down which would require cutting up the hood. It's currently squirrely as hell as I have laid it over a couple of time and it got rear ended when it was new and the frame is screaming from fatigue. Yes, Isuzu's are not unibody.

MichaelW
March 23rd, 2007, 08:10 PM
I have been talking with the guys over at Nth. I volunteered the JK for test fitting on their new lift for JK's. So it will get a 4.5" lift. I have some 35's and black steelies that I will mount up with Staun bead locks. I would like to find a good set of fenders for it, preferably steel tube. I will probably replace the factory sport bars with a real cage. And one day may fit in some 37's with a little sawzall work. I would like to boost the performance a bit so intake, headers and exhaust are in order. But for the most part I want to keep it pretty tame as I have the Isuzu to play with. I kind of miss driving to a trail, toddling around then driving home with out the need for a tow rig and trailer. There is lots of trails I still want to explore as my love for 4 wheeling started by exploring back country trails and I kind of miss that. Don't get me wrong rocks are definitely fun but I miss the adventure part sometimes when I'm just looking for the next rock to climb. So the JK will be just a very capable exploring rig that doubles as my daily driver.
