I made up a few steering box reinforcement plates for Cherokees. They are 2 piece( side of frame and bottom of frame) made of .188 mild steel and are weld on.
They are $59 for each kit with new steering box bolts, or $225 installed(welding up your broken unibody is extra :D )Let me know if you have any questions. I will post pictures on my website within the next few days, and here if I someday figure out how.
Get one before your frame breaks, not when it breaks. It is cheaper and easier. I just installed one on a unlocked rig on 33's that was only moderately offroaded.
