Jeep Suspension

does anyone know if there is a company out there that makes prerunner suspension for a 1977 jeep cherokee chief. i knowe that they used to race them and alot of people use them as prerunner trucks but i cant find a company that makes a kit

Is your dad funding the project? If so, take the rig down to Samco Fab and let him show you what you need. If anybody can make a prerunner, it's him.

looking for a "kit" for any prerunner project is a waste of time because the term prerunner is so general. I would focus on what you want out of your jeep as far as: saftey, travel, dampening, durability, speed, and dollars spent. Then devise a plan of attack or even easier talk to Samco.

ok, one of my close friends dads was a pro desert racer and he knows alot about these things so i could have him build the suspension but he said there was acually a long travel type suspension kit for it just wanted to see if anyone knew who sold it

Doesn't the vehicle have leaf springs and solid axles front and rear? I don't know what you are going to do for "long travel" beyond good (maybe longer than stock?) leaf springs and high dollar shocks. Mike Barnett from T&J Performance has a J truck that he is racing is the 3700 class for Jeepspeed this year and I know that Chris Overacker from CODE built a J10 race truck several years ago. I tried to dig up some photos but did not have much luck.
