That was the coolest firearm i have ever got to shoot. you could be standing 10 feet away when someone is shooting it, and since the muzzle break shoots the gases back you feel the percussion hit you from that distance. Amazing thing is, it kicks less then most peoples favorite guns like the 30-06 or even the AR-15 that shoots a small .223 round.

Did you shoot it out at Mustang??? I know they had a MG shoot this past weekend.

Yep the 50 BMG is a dandy weapon and all the whiney scum liberals want it banned.

Is that like a 50 cal round that the military uses?

A few years back I got to shoot this big 50 cal. sniper rifle, it was semi auto, had a 10 round magazine and a muzzle break. It did not have much kick, but it was a loud mutha! I heard it shot before I shot it, and I was kind of scared to shoot it, sounded like it would rip your shoulder off. Kicked less than a 12 gauge shotgun. It also poked big holes in thick steel! Cool gun, and I was told the ammo was only $1 a round surplus.

cabelas had some rounds for like 100 bucks for like 50 of the hunter shack ammo for a while, I know I usually paid like 50 bucks for 10 rounds most of the other time. I love havin a 50 thing is a kick in the pants, I think I got wood the first time I shot it :D

IF that gun was legal for deer hunting I would'nt have to drive so far, I could shoot from a mile away

you mean they have a calibur limit on deer hunting? I just figured people didn't use them to hunt deer cause they actually wanted some of the deer left to take home :D

I sure hope not. .44 is pretty small relative to......almost all deer rifles
a .223 has almost the same energy as a .44 and my favorite deer rifle (.25-06) is almost double the energy.

Energy (ft-lbs)

Remington® Express® 240 SJ HP 1650 <-----.44 rem mag
Premier® Core-Lokt® Ultra 115 CLUB 2298 <----.25-06 Rem
Premier® AccuTip™ 55 ATV 1282 <------.223 Rem

I would hazard a guess that it refers to the bullet diameter (.44"), not cartridge length. You can use a .300 Magnum (any of the variants), or .35 caliber bullets, and they all have more energy than the .44 mag. :gapteeth:

:gapteeth: haha, you're probably right. I didn't think of it that way
All though he did say Caliber. If he'd said Diameter, then it'd be a different story :D
