Well, the last time my computer had anything touched worth a damn was the end of 2003, and lately I have been hating it more, and more, and more. Finally, when I couldn't even play a bargain bin game form wal-mart without lagging, and having to pull one of my 512mb sticks of ram because **** wouldn't install with it in... I got a buddy who wanted to sell me a rig he started to build half done, on the cheap with the Homie Discount. Thanks Kevin again for that ;). So I bit, figured I'd have to get it done eventually, and it was a good enough deal not to pass up. Here are some specs:

Inter Core 2 Duo E6600 2.4 ghz @ 4mb L2 cache
Asus P5VD2-MS SE Mobo
Kingston 2 gb (2x1gb) PC24300 DDR2 533
Antec True Power Trio TP3-430 ATX12V 430W
Black Case with 120mm fan and CPU vent

$400 for all that

Then hit up best buy on friday morning to score some deals and round out the PC...

Seagate Baracuda SATA/300 16mb cache 320gb $60
VisionTek HD2600 PRO 512mb DDR2 DX10 PCI-E $100
LG Super Multi DVD+RW/R $35
Envision 22" Widescreen LCD monitord 1680x1050 $150

For a whopping grand total $745. So far the thing is so many leaps and bounds ahead of the old computer, I can play my bargain bin game on full resolution max gfx just dandy :D I would have gone with an 8600 GTS video card but I didn't want to order one and wait for it, and the deal for the HD2600 was good enough not to pass up. Here it is, next to the old monitor... who runs a 17" crt anymore??

Got that for my dad as a Joke from Indian Springs (north of vegas)

YUCK, GET A NEW KEYBOARD:knokwood:

I have the wireless, it's sitting up on top of the desk in the picture, just haven't installed it yet. You have to use a wired when you are configuring BIOS, setting up windows, ETC.

Check, Check, and Check. I used to play WoW along time ago, and haven't played in a long time. My old computer ran it fine, but it just got boring. Figured I'd reinstall it and see how it plays on the new system.

World Of Warcraft will work on Mike's PC like this......

Mike will be downloading music/video, uploading backups, playing streaming music, have two IM clients running, 10 webpages open, Outlook 2007 running along with WOW, and the PC will be bored.

With older computers running 65+ running processes at once with 512MB of RAM usually was the proverbial kick in the gonads - think 5th gear maxed out at 5000RPM.

With the Intel Dual-Core/Quad Core computers running 125+ running processes, they are just
easing into second gear.

Think of it as a transition from a Geo Metro to a Lamborghini - it's like that.
