My Rover came with a hood blackout in '97 and it's been baked to death in the dry NV heat. I bought a new decal for the hood and I can't get the old one off.

I tried using heat but it barely works. The decal has small cracks in it so i only get 1/4-1/2 inch pieces at a time.

I've heard about these wheels you can put on a drill or grinder called earaser wheels? Has anyone used one, and how well do they work? What else can i use to get this old decal off without hurting my paint?

i use them all the time. just be careful not to get it too hot or it will burn your paint,

The wheels work great. All the paint stores have them.

Barrett paint

NC auto parts

But be sure to use only the recomended speed. If you put one of those on a die grinder it will blow apart and damage things. Use a light touch and take your time.
