Volunteer Trail Patrol was devised by Carla Boucher, attorney for United 4 Wheel Drive Associations, Inc. I am planning a VTP meeting in the near future for interested people. The possible dates are Wednesday 11/9, Friday 11/11, Saturday 11/12 and Sunday 11/13. Meeting time will likely be in the evening to accommodate as many people as are interested and to coincide with the schedule of Larry Anderson, OHV Manager for the Carson Ranger District/USFS. I need people to contact me directly at <mtnhi71@charter.net>. There are openings for only ten (10) people at this time. The cost is $22 per person, which covers the cost of the orange VTP T shirt, the orange VTP antenna flag, and the handout material you will be given.
The final date and time will be advised based on your responses to me.

I'm guessing that they voluntarily patrol trails to check for suspicious activities/trail disturbances and littering. If the government won't patrol it and get mad at the 4wheelers because its "our kind" who trashes and ruins the trails, we have to put out some effort if we want to show our good faith to keep the trails clean, safe, and open.

I hope that just about sums up the lot of it.

Mark,

Indeed they were. Had a good time getting together w/ everyone. Bronco canyon it is. Friday night is going to be a late one full of wrenching. Have to go through and tighten up all the bolts, then remove a couple of broken bolts in my hub, damn bolts keep breaking off in there. Good deal. Your typing like you already had a few tasty brews today. ha ha
