I currently have a slipper clutch on my axial rtr. The thing seems to slip all the time no matter how tight I have it. I have recently upgraded to the all metal drive lines and was wondering if it is still required or if there are other parts that may break down the line if it is removed? Also I think I should be able to go vertical with a straight up approach but the slipper just sits there and scream at my like my wife on payday after a trip to the hobby shop :D. And does anyone know what the price of a new slipper would cost. My current slipper is the stock one that came with the rtr. Thanks this is the best community by far that I have been a part of.

You don't have to run a slipper at all. The reasoning for having one is to lessen the blow on your drive system (gears, driveshafts, etc). With a motor that has a lot of torque you probably should run one if you do not want to replace those parts a lot, however, I got sick of replacing the slipper components, and tightening the slipper in all of my electric cars, so I just took the slipper out. I rarely have to replace any parts, usually if I do it's because I've jumped them and landed while still on the gas.
