here is ur chance to express oipinions on what trails should be closed and those that should remain open to motorized use. Be assured, the anti-access folks will turn out in numbers. I'm headed down to CC, are you? If ur not part of t he process, ya can't really squawk when a trail is later closed...

Public comment sought on off-highway vehicle use
-- STAFF REPORTS
Posted: 3/20/2006
The U.S. Forest Service is seeking the public's comment on proposed off-highway vehicle use and routes in the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest.
Beginning today and running every Tuesday through April 18, Forest Service staff will answer questions about its route inventory maps from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Carson Ranger District office, 1536 S. Carson St., Carson City. These maps help staff determine which off-highway vehicle routes the public can use, and the public can bring routes to the staff's attention that are not on the maps.
The Forest Service hopes to complete the route inventory in the next few years.

HEY RARECJ8! Thank you for starting this thread last week. I was in Carson City on business today, and remembered that Tuesday was the open house for trail inventory @ USFS. The sad part about it is, Franklin Pemberton (Community Affairs Officer) told me that I was the ONLY PERSON to walk thru the door for the open house in the past week of public comment. WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON WITH THIS SPORT!
Last Saturday@ MOONROCKS CLEAN UP the total head count was 21.
The RUBICON is turning into DISNICON.
The Forest Service asks for OUR input, and everybody is to busy?
I talked with Franklin for an hour. The man could not have been nicer, or more informed. The bottom line was that with out OUR help they could not make informed, and balanced recommendations.
IF YOUR READING THIS POST YOUR INPUT IS NEEDED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
On TUESDAYS for the next 3 weeks from 3pm to7pm the Forest Service is having open house to discuss the trail inventory.
The address is : CARSON RANGER DISTRICT 1536 South Carson st. Carson City
Should we post this in events, and have a group get together next tuesday @ 6PM?
