What shoes does everyone wear for riding? That work good with platform pedals.

i ride vans, since its the only shoe i have, but you want something with like a wavy pattern or something like that so the pedals can grip well. the flatter the bottum of your show, the worse the show is

wow that's odd..I'd say Vans have one of the flattest bottoms...They are skate shoes and every van I've have is flat as a board..I have been riding with flat shoes ever since I started racing and they work great for me....Maybe you meant somethin else by "flatter bottom"....

I ride 99% of the time w/ Clickers, just adds that extra extreme disaster potential especially on the ladder rides. Hmm Doggies

Yea I tried clicks once while racing and fell over when i stopped because I couldn't remember how to get them out...:rolling: I hear they are great for long rides and can give more power, but I'm good without em!

The slower you go the worse they are due to balance issues. They are great for power b/c your getting force 100% of the time on the pedals. The worst falls I have had is when I was going really slow, all the fast wrecks just eject me. I didnt like them at first and all my friends think Im crazy for doing the ladders clicked in buy like I tell them, the pucker factor just makes it that more fun.:best:

I've been riding in my Airwalks, but want something with a more rigid sole, and no laces. I will be shopping for some riding shoes this week. I am using basket pedals and have fallen over a couple times, before I could get my foot out, but love the solid connection.

Then you should think of investing in some clickers, they are far superior than the baskets and you can get out of the clickers quickly once you figure them out.

ONCE YOU FIGURE THEM OUT IS RIGHT.YOU DON'T KNOW HOW EMBARRASSING IT IS TO FALL OVER IN A GATE OR TO WIPE OUT AND STILL BE STUCK TO YOUR BIKE OR FOR YOUR SON TO BRAKE CHECK YOU ON A SUNDAY RIDE IN THE PARK

Try the bottom of North Star while everyone is waiting in line to get on the chair lift. I know all to well, or right in down town Chico infront of the Bar trying to do a drunk wheely to only go completely on your ass infront of everyone cause you cant unclick. But I love um:D

i'm against the whole clipless pedals, once you start ridding ladders and logs you need to be able to freely move

Guess your just not hardcore then. Ladders are easy, throw some clickers in then its another story.

Juston this tuesday sounds good. Look to go around 4:30?

Just got some Shimano, shoes, and some Time clip in pedals. Love them. Took a while to get good at clipping them in, but getting out is a cinch. They can be adjusted so light you just think about getting out and your out. Way better then the baskets I was using, which were way better than riding platforms.
