Just get the base 10/22 if you want to do upgrades. It should run you under $200, and comes with the wood stock....

A good site for 10/22 upgrades and mods would be www.rimfirecentral.com. There are a ton of upgrades available for it....

Nick, how much did you pay for the Taurus... I have been thinking about getting a .357....

negative, just under $200. The $110 gun was a savage semi-auto .22LR. But, as we know, the ruger has so many mods for it.

Right now it's sitting on my floor completely disassembled. I put 550 rounds through it this afternoon, and now.......let the games begin!!

I was looknig through that thread a little bit ago. there are some saweet guns in there. I'm not sure yet if I want to go the "tactical" route like you did, or a more "varmint hunter" type of route. Like any new hobby, it's going to take a few days to get down with the lingo and what works with what, and where to buy, and so on and so forth. Should be fun.

Mine works for both. Some of those guys have spent well over $1,000 modifying their guns. I can't see spending that for a .22 rifle. I want something fun and accurate, and as you have seen, my rifle fits that purpose.

I may send the bolt out to be reworked, and also get a new trigger group, but we'll see. It shoots pretty well as is. I do want a bipod though..... that may be next.

john where can you get stocks and barrels here in town?

Sportsman's Warehouse may have stocks. Not sure where to get barrels in town, I haven't seen anyone selling them other than out at the gun show, which is where I got mine.

The Carson Armory in Mound House has the Butler Creek stocks like the one I have, at least they did last I checked.
