Speedometer on drugs?

My speedometer wobbles alot (+ or - 15 mph) on warm/hot days. At least it seems that the pattern. I don't know if it's the gear in the tcase or the cable itself but that's all there is right? (besides the speedo itself)

Not a jeep expert, but usually speedo issues are a direct result of the gear inside the tranny. If it were with the cable, your speedo probably wouldnt work at all.

yea I'd bet it's the little plastic gear in the tcase, which I've been meaning to swap out anyways with the correct ratio =/ Just wierd that when it's cold out it works :scratch:

That is wierd. Maybe try chaning the gear oil in there, might help out alittle. And instead of changing the t-case, just add another one :) Dual T-Case FTW!!

nah u need to run lube thru the speedo cable so it doesnt bounce i had this issuse a while back

It could be the cable, or at the ends of the cable where there is a lil metal piece that sits on the end could be wore too. You should call Nevada Speedometer, they are a local company that has done such a great job they are actually makin the cables and speedo stuff for advance adapters now. Judy or Tom usually always give free advice and are great people to deal with. If you need to go down to the store they are on marrieta way in sparks inbetween glendale ave, and freeportblvd.

Well the whole line is metal piece and ends are apart of it and are squared, the best thing todo is pull the line from the tubing (it comes out real easy) and put a light coat of grease on it and put it back in it and you'll be set for another 10 years.... but this applys to the 84-94 jeeps before they went to a speed sensor....


but and ive seen this the housing to wich the speedo cable plugs into (plastic) has worn out but then it wouldnt give any reading
