View Full Version : Jeep Eater Hill

The Hills Angels and other trail friends are doing a Peavine west side snow/mud madness fun run this Sunday. We'll do squeeze rock, jeep eater hill, the aspens, the summit of peavine for the view (if there is any interest), then descend fenceline to the rock garden and then the razor back ending near kings row access portal. The wx man says lots of sun; so mud, slush and fun are the order of the day.

Meet place is Bordertown Casino, 395 north near Cold Springs, north parking lot. We'll roll out by 9:15am, so get there early for gas, snacks or breakfast. Trail ratings for this event is a mild 2.5 out of 5, with a couple difficult optional play obstacles.

All are welcome; no need to RSVP, just show and go. CB ch. 16 ( 4x4=16)
FRS 7-11. We'll also be doing some GPS waypoint marking for the upcoming USFS Peavine road strategy but that is done while driving, so its easy. The plan is to identify which trails we cannot live w/out-- the USFS will be decommissioning later this summer over 100 miles of Peavine roads, so we have to offer public comment that is specific, not just a 'hell no' answer. We cannot do them all Sunday, but we do want to get these named places on the 'keeper' list.

Hope to see ya all...

Sounds like fun. If I see you there I want to discuss a possibilty of a Como trail run, if you have been there before....

sure-- i grew up in CC and have played all over those hills. Como is more historical than a 4x4 challenge-- heck, we used to take my '68 Cougar up there for high school keggers, but that was a long time ago. A fun loop is to start from Dayton, go to Como, descend east bound toward Yerington, then hang a right and come over sunrise summit, hang another right into Eldorado canyon and end back at Dayton.

This is my view out my back window..... I know you recognize that mountain.... I look at it every day and just want to go to the top, but I don't want to do it alone...

sounds like a plan, I'm probably going to pNp saturday to hopefully yank a class 3 hitch off one of those cherokees, maybe even some front tow hooks. My lift should be coming by friday but I can't get it on in time anyways.

If we leave at 9:15am sharp, what time would we expect to be at Kings row?
Just wondering as I have an early start Sunday at work.

Got the CB Rare.... :yup:
