Nevada Off-Highway Vehicle 2007 Legislature Email Group Up and Running

I volunteered to create an email group for automatic distribution of email messages associated with the development of one or more OHV bills in the Nevada 2007 Legislature Session. I selected Yahoo for this service since Yahoo does this for free. It took me over a week to do this, since Yahoo will only allow me to add 10 email addresses in a 24 hour period.

As of this morning, all the email address provided to me has been added. Therefore this email group is now fully up and running.

I set this email group up such that only people who are in the email group can automatically send an email message to the group. Hopefully this will eliminate most all spam and other junk email messages. If someone starts to spam us I will delete their email address in the group.

Anyone can join on their own
Anyone can join on their own, simply by going to: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/NV-OHV-2007-Legislature/. If you know of anyone else that want to join this group, just have them visit the above link.

Be Professional and Courteous
Since any one of you can automatically send an email message to the group please be professional and courteous in your email messages. We all have our opinion on how the OHV bill(s) should be written and we all have the right to agree or disagree. BUT, please do so in a professional way.

this lady would like to come and give a short presentation on OHV bills now in the NV legislature. Fridays seem a bit noisy and crowded. Is there an interest having, on a one time deal, a meeting at BP on, say a work night? It should not be as busy. What says the group for a special one-time, non friday meeting?

The BDR for registration & titling and the OHV program is already in and LCB is working on it. No need to wait until it comes out as a bill during session because we know it will come out needing tweaking and/or full-out amending....have been doing this long enough to know that no bills ever come out 'perfect'.

I would like to meet with your group prior to the start of the Session to do several things:
1) Find out what you want and don't want in the bill;
2) Dispel some of the many rumors out there about the intent, what happened last session (no, the bill was not 'hijacked'), etc.; and,
3) Hopefully gain support from your group for the bill. As you well know, Mark, there is power in numbers. I want people calling and/or emailing legislators once the bill gets scheduled for hearing and even better, would love to see a few friendly faces in the audience when we testify on the bill.

If another (non-first) meeting get scheduled, do let me know. I will plan to send Leah Bradle from my office on Dec. 1. She needs to get out and meet people anyway. Otherwise, I'll plan to attend on Jan. 5 (first Fri in Jan, 07)....yes, I do schedule things out several months in advance! :-)

Have a great day. I won't even bother reminding you to vote since you can't turn on your radio or tv or answer the phone without someone reminding you!
