my mallcrawler needs a ittle r & r in the paint department. yeah, i know i'm a pussy and want my paint fixed.......but this is my DD and i'd like to sell it in the future (but not looking the way it does now). it's black and the desert/forest pinstriping and the aftermath from my trip through mono county during a dust storm has left the paint pretty sh!tty looking. plus, the black shows EVERYTHING  . the scratches are pretty minute, but the black just magnifies them making them look 50x worse. none of the scratches are down to the metal.

now, where can i take it to get the paint looking a little newer??? or what is it gonna take for me to do it myself??? maybe i need a new clearcoat??? sh!t, i don't know......that's why i'm asking :D

OD Green. Definately.

Seriously though. White hides the most out of all colors, yellow is second.

Go to Walmart, buy:

1. Electric Buffer
2. Extra buffer wheels applicator & terr cloth finishers
3. White polishing compound
4. Meguilars Poish/Wax
5. 2 bags of white cotton detail towels

5. Wash car thoroughly.

6. Be very carefull with the buffer & wheel, just rub some compound ever a 8" x 8" area about the thickness of a cd. Immediately use buffer in up/down motion over area. Wipe with white cotton towel to remove residue after area is done. Do NOT push hard while buffing: be gently, but firm.

Use the polishing compound on the worst scratches with buffer doing small areas, then use the polish/wax over the enire vehicle.

Best to leave that to a professional, like you said black magnifies everything, if you take a buffer to it you are going to leave swirl marks all over it.

If ya need it fixed I can help. I would need to see the damage first. Might just need to be buffed, might need paint. Send me a pm, could always use some extra cash. Professional here if you are interested.

Silver sucks. There is too much fader in it.
