Ive been looking into gettin into RC Crawling but dont want to spend too much to start. Im not looking to do comps right now just something fun to play around with in the yard or around Reno and maybe build up a course. New house has a good sized back yard with lots of area for somethin like this. Ive been lookin at a few budget models and ive narrowed it down to 3 Axial AX10 Scorpion RTC 1/10 Comes with everything but batteries and charger for $235. However, i do hear a lot of issues with this being cheap and weak and very underpowered. CKRC Page http://www.ckrccrawlers.com/shop/images/ax90011_side_0069_med.jpg
looking at racing seats for my 1991 yj. I want two for the front(driver and passenger) and i want a new rear bench. my limit is $1000 which includes the seats harnesses and the mounting brackets
What do you all think about the night crawler from team losi? Seems like a good deal for a rtr if I read ckrc's site correctly. All I want a rc for is to probably just to dink around the house I've had nitro stuff but no crawlers......
looking to buy a 1/10 scale crawler. i am thinking about ax-10 but who knows. i dont really have that much money so somthing affordable. thanks alot Travis
Newbie need some help! Just picked up a rig and have the FX-R TT1091 speed controller with the VT3 transmitter. Everything was working great last night but after charging the batteries, this morning I have no forward throttle. All the lights just blink fast on the speed controller, then you try forward throttle. (That's telling me the receiver not seeing the transmitter?) Reversing the throttle just works for reverse. Any tip or Ideas. Jeff
Me and my uncle hit up Moon Rocks this Sunday with the Rhino and scalers.. Heres some pics for you guys :cool: http://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l181/atvdude775/106_0335.jpg http://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l181/atvdude775/106_0336.jpg http://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l181/atvdude775/106_0337.jpg http://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l181/atvdude775/106_0338.jpg http://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l181/atvdude775/106_0339.jpg http://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l181/atvdude775/106_0340.jpg http://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l181/atvdude775/106_0341.jpg http://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l181/atvdude775/106_0342.jpg http://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l181/atvdude775/106_0343.jpg
Just wonderin if anyone else has scalers on here. If so, post them up! Heres my JK Scx10 frame, axial axles/trans, and beadlocks on rc4wd Tomahawk tires. http://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l181/atvdude775/beep3-1.jpg http://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l181/atvdude775/beep5.jpg http://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l181/atvdude775/beepstuffd.jpg Im also working on a 4door chevy truck, but i wont have any pics until i get the body sometime this week.
everything stock except for these upgrades: Digital High torque MG servo Novak Rooster esc with 55t motor lipo (will be raplaced with smaller one. Had a 7.4v 2 cell 35c 5000mah laying around) Spektrum sr3001 reciever
so I was wanting to get an rc crawler to play around with. I was thinking about a venom, or axial crawler but I know nothing about them,or is there anything cheaper thats of good quality, I dont want to get something that seems like a toy. I'm not going to do comps any time soon but want a good crawler that wont break on me the first week I get it, or have the battery die after a couple months of use. any opinions?
i changed out the reciever to a spektrum so i can use my dx2. Now my throttle/reverse response is almost jolting. Ill pull to go forward and it just stays there, and then all of the sudden Boom it goes fast. same with reverse. Its like i have no control over it. Is it through the bindings or what? Its even worse when i try to turn and forward/reverse at same time
hey guys. new to the crawling rc stuff, but decent racer buggy/slash racer. Just wondering if 2 2650 in parallel would be enough to power my crawler? im going to go with a novak 55t and esc. let me know! http://www.ckrccrawlers.com/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=94_76&products_id=2229 2 of these over each axle? or should i go with something smaller?
I know for crawling you would want a high torq servo, but i got a ds1313 laying around would it be good for crawling? its a fast digital servo
Just wanted to say it was awesome to meet you all this weekend, and I had an absolute blast hanging out with you guys! I wish we were closer so that we could attend a few comps, I want to drive more of Parker's courses! Thanks to those of you that worked hard to make it an awesome event-- I said it on rccrawler, but that place is so full of drama and pessimism I wasn't sure if it would get noticed. It really was a killer event, and I had a freaking blast!! hope to see you all soon! ~Jess

I can only imagine Brian and Jake are going to have their hands full now, wow, that is going to have to end up being like taking on a second full time job. Looks like the "official" USRCCA web site could really use some help... http://www.usrcca.com/index.htm Ownership/possession of that should have been part of your arrangements, I'm guessing, even though it looks like that web site was started, then abandoned as far back as 2006. If you guys want a hand, or I should say someone to do it for you, in getting that thing in order I can help. I know a thing or 2, college learned even in web development, though I don't do it as a day job (no money in it).
Its your turn!:band::birthday::pbj::moon:
HAPPY BIRTHDAY :beerchug::band::urock::woot!::rock:
Something for backyard fun? AX-10 or what have you?
Just wanted to give the BPRCA members a heads up on a T-shirt that will be coming soon. :thumbsup: http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/showthread.php?t=193407 When I find out more I'll let you all know.
I wanted to say thank you to all of you for your thoughts and prayers as I went through a very trying time recently legally (custody battle). I had to fight for my boys again as my last ex with no legal ties or blood relation to them tried taking them from me officially. Well I went into defense mode and called an attorney and he squashed it before it ever went across the judges desk. Just like I said she has no legal ties and no blood relation to them therefore it was dismissed on the grounds of without merit. All of my friends you know who you are thank you again , it means a lot. :thumbsup:
I posted this in the Welding Projects but I think it's more apporpriate here. I got this idea from a Reno4X4 member after competing in the full size one at Reno Rocks. I decided to build an RC crawler teeter totter because the full size one was a blast. Here's the completed teeter totter....man it's tough.:eek: I plan on bringng it to the next practice comp wherever it will be and let any of you that want to try it, have at it. No prizes or anything like that just drive yourself carzy. :cool::nervous: Painted but no decals. http://i104.photobucket.com/albums/m181/zipgraver/DSCN4031.jpg Decals http://i104.photobucket.com/albums/m181/zipgraver/DSCN4037-2.jpg http://i104.photobucket.com/albums/m181/zipgraver/DSCN4035-2.jpg Present by...
Now I have read the rules on using a dig tranny in the novice comps, but is it ok to have on in your rig but not use the dig's features. So in other words just using it for a replacement for the stock tranny, no disconects or lock outs?
Anyone crawl in G-ville, any get togethers I could get in on for practice, or if anyone wants to start?:thumbsup:
Ampdraw I wanted to let you know that yesterday I got the behind the axle steering done along with high turn knuckles and the viper electronics plate. The difference that it made as everything is now up front the receiver and speed control and nothing is further back than the middle where the tranny is. This thing does crawls I did not think it could do.:thumbsup:
