  1. Billiards - Local APA leagues

The next season of APA handicap pool leagues will be starting up soon. There are several local 8-ball and 9-ball teams. Membership for APA is $25 per year and it's $7 to play in the weekly matches. It's a handicap league so all skill levels can be competitive. Let me know if you're interested.

  5. First Armon and now Luke...

Luke announced today that he will be joining the NBA draft. Without Luke and Armon Where are we? Are the new recruits going to be able to take up the slack? I don't blame the guys for taking the chance. They should be able to progress just as fast in the NBA as the NCAA but they'll be getting paid well. Best of luck Luke and Armon.

  6. Smile Pop Warner Football in Fernley

Hey gang,I was just curios to see if any of the Fernley gang that had kids in sports were willing to put together a few or one team in Fernley.I coach and i am a board member for Fallon Pop Warner, and we are willing to help out anyone who wants to give it a shot. For the first year the teams would have to run under the Fallon banner until the Fernley association was formed plus equipment and play/practice facilities. All practices would be held in Fernley but home games would have to be played in Fallon for the first season. An arrangement can even be made with Sparks if that's more to your liking. Let me know,if your interested. We are willing to help any way we can.Thanks. Plus any guys in Fallon that are interested in coaching hit me up..Any of you guys in the Navy need to get some Volunteer time in,i can hook you up,either coaching or field crews.

  8. Luke Babbit uses his Jedi powers...

I watched this game on the Wichita internet feed. It was $7 well spent. It was the first time I can remember watching a game with the opponents' announcers calling the game. They really got wound up about how Luke got away with an offensive foul. You be the judge: http://www.nevadawolfpack.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=10000&ATCLID=204911391 They also got pretty wound up about Brandon Fields dunk where he also got away with an offensive foul. That one is a little less obvious but the defender definitely wasn't set.

  13. Ault rumors?

KOH reported this morning that there is some consideration of firing Coach Ault. The pressure seems to be coming from the board of regents. There is also a report that the athletic director has been trying to fire him since 2004. Just rumors? I hope so... -Chris Ault has over 200 wins. He still doesn't have his 100th loss. -He is the only active College Football Hall of Fame coach. -His offense, highlighted by the Pistol Formation, is frequently studied by other coaches. It has even found its way into the NFL. -In their history with the WAC, Boise State has only lost two conference games. Lately, it's the only conference team that the Pack seems to have trouble with. With the new defensive coordinator, maybe the Pack will learn some pass defense.

  17. Wolf Pack...

I just watched a really good basketball game. The problem is that we lost.:( We were up by four at the half against BYU. I was expecting that we were going go get blown out. I think we may do pretty good when conference play starts up on January 2 against LaTech. We play again tomorrow at 5. GO PACK!!!

  19. Wolf Pack Weekend

The weekend begins with a women's basketball game Friday night at 7:00. There's a 1:00 kickoff Saturday when Fresno State comes to town to try to break the Pack's undefeated conference season. Other than Boise, this will probably be the toughest WAC game this year. It should be a good one. Tip off is at 7:00 Saturday for the basketball game against visiting Montana State. 3:30 to 7:00 is "Rally at the Crowley" GO PACK!

  20. Never in NCAA history...

No NCAA football team has ever finished a season with three players exceeding 1,000 yards rushing. Current stats: Via Taua: 1059 Colin Kaepernick: 1015 Luke Lippincott: 866 If Luke gets another 134 yards then the Wolf Pack will make NCAA history. He has two games to do it. His average rushing is 86 yards per game.

  21. Basketball

Wolf Pack Basketball begins tonight at 7:00 with an exhibition game against Chico State. This year ought to be interesting after Coach Fox went for the money in another state. Hopefully, Coach Carter will step up. If we don't have a winning season this year then recruitment may suffer over the next few years. We still have Babbitt, Johnson and a few other talented players. Come out tonight and support the Wolf Pack. Tickets are only $5 for this game.

  22. University of Nevada vs. Hawaii

We're behind 6-7 in playing Hawaii but I think we should crush them this weekend. They've been loosing to everyone and we're undefeated in WAC. I'm thinking something like a repeat of last week substituting HI for ID. Go Pack!

  23. Wolf Pack Basketball

15 home games for $40. Did I mention that it's Women's Basketball? <object width="560" height="340"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/WlbV0-thGNU&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/WlbV0-thGNU&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="560" height="340"></embed></object> I get a hard time for being a fan but not from anyone who has actually been to one of their games. It's inexpensive, you get a great seat and the action is amazing. These women play harder than the men's team. The Sunday afternoon exhibition game against CSU East Bay is free.

  24. University of Nevada VS. Idaho...

Two of the last three undefeated WAC teams at Mackay Stadium this Saturday at 1:05. Idaho has been playing a little better than expected so far this year. This could be a good game. The Pack is still leading the nation in rushing yards per game. Dontay Moch is leading the nation in tackles for a loss. We're starting to put a passing game together. I'm thinking Wolf Pack by 10. Anyone tailgating this week?

  25. University of Nevada VS. Utah State...

Chris Ault has his 200th win in the bag before seeing his 100th loss yet the armchair coaches still insist on dissing the only active Hall of Fame coach. The Wolf Pack leads the nation in rushing yardage. Yes they played two mediocre teams but they also took on two nationally ranked teams. Those figure into the 288 yard per game average as well. Aside from playing nationally ranked teams, the Pack's losses seem to come from their own mistakes. The Colorado game could've been won if it wasn't for the turnovers. I would even say that the Pack may have beat Miz-U if it weren't for a couple of critical turnovers. They seemed to have that under control Friday night. Let's hope they can keep that up. A 2-0 conference record would be nice. Anyway... KAME will be broadcasting the away game this Saturday at noon. I'm thinking something like 28-17 UNR. edit: Oops on the 3-0 for a win this Saturday. It'll be 2-0 conference.
