Times are tough for a lot of us these days. I thought a thread where members could list their trade or talents for barter. As for me: History or literature tutor Former chef (not gourmet but, I can whip up some killer food) I'll think of more later.
*update* I got a phone call from the officer handling this this case.. He has been in contact with both the kid as well as his mother. The officer has visited the abandoned vehicle and told me that the truck is in an illegal dump site, not saying it right what the kid did, but he said he can understand why the kid was excited about finding it. the officer talked to a guy who lives at a house near the dump site and was told the truck has been there for at least 2 years. again, not saying the kid was right to do what he did, but its understandable why he could think he was actually helping by cleaning an illegal dump site. the officer told me the kid has returned the items in question to the truck and is willing to have the officer come out to his house to look at the other items he has/is trying to sell to verify that are not stolen. both the mother and the kid have been very active and cooperative in the investigation. since this thread started the kid has received death...
I am putting this here because the land use section does not get enough traffic and this needs attention NOW! http://blogs.4wheeloffroad.com/6563368/miscellaneous/moab-might-be-gone-forever/index.html Congress to Vote on H.R. 1925 America's Red Rock Wilderness Act This Thursday! You can avoid this hassle all together by becoming a preimum member and upload pics directly to the forum from your PC (plus other benefits). Updating this for 2009 So you are computer and internet illiterate and can't post pics from your computer. Don't worry, if kindergartners can do it so can you. First create an account at PhotoBucket.

Here is my *half-assed* tutorial on posting videos to Reno 4x4 :) 1. If the video you would like to post is not hosted by YouTube (ie: LiveLeak, Break, Google Video...Etc.) attempt to locate the same video on YouTube, as YouTube is easiest to post on Reno4x4. - If unable to locate the same video on YouTube, posting the link will be good enough. 1. Locate and copy the URL of the YouTube Video you would like to post (Usually found in the address bar while viewing the video page) 2. Go to http://tinyurl.com/ytroach and paste the url into the box.
Ok, So we as member's of Reno4x4 need to make some changes. If you plan a event/trail run on this site, Do not brag and show photos of off trail/road driving. Plus you should not be driving off the trail for any reason unless its a life or death situation! There is ton of people that giveaway hundreds of hours of their time each year to keep our trails clean, and the trails open for all of us for years to come. I know I get pissed off, if I see fresh tracks through some wet lands, or driving over trees just to get a photo of you flex out on a rock. This is reason trails "ARE" getting closed every day.
..last Friday. They didn't ship them until Tuesday using FEDEX smartpost from L A. They arrived in Sac yeterday and left there this morning at 3:30am. They still haven't arrived in Reno. Maybe smartpost is another name for pony express. When I ordered them I told the guy I needed quickly and he said in his best broken English "well dey be come in 8 day"
I’m finishing up with high school in Jan and am really looking into moving to Reno to attend college and I plan to stay after school..... I’m going out in the next few weeks for a few days to check the school out in person and i am hoping someone on here would be willing to meet up and show me around the town a little.... and just be able to give me there point of view on living in Reno or near it Just trying to look at this idea from all angles Any help would be awesome thanks tanner
Would you? What features would you like to see on it and how much would you be willing to pay per day? There are still a few details to work out, like tire size, wheel bolt pattern, accessories, etc, but me and Chris talked about it couple times ever since he started building them, so it's time to see what the people have to say. It would be a service mostly to the members here, that don't want/need to buy a trailer, that they might only need two days out of the year for that Rubicon run, or trip across Nevada. It would also serve as a promotional "rig" for both Reno4x4 and Sierra4x4 Trailers.
It's that time again! Today I had Back Fourty and Bone Daddy's. Back Fourty was delicious as usual. Bone Daddy's had deep smoky flavor and a slow heat that built up with each rib. I am going back tomorrow around 11:20. See you there.
I'd love to work for myself. I came up with this idea when I lived in Denver, where every house comes with a full basement. However they are rarely finished. Many home owners as their family grows will decided to "finish" the basement with Drywall and plumbing. I know not many homes in the Reno area have basement. I have some a bit of remodeling and construction experience. My biggest project was when I converted my fathers old Garage into a home theater for him including adding a bathroom. The garage had one piece of romex running to it. I ended up putting in a 125 panel and ran all of the electric, added a wall and bathroom including shower, toilet, sink and hotwater heater. Insulated and sound boarded the walls before adding drywall. Anyhow I dont know if legally I can work as a electrician without some kind of construction license? But thats not my concern, what I'd really like to do is home automation integrated with home theater.
Big thanks to Dee & Cody from Hardline Metals for installing the Poly Performance HD retube kit for my Rubicon jk D44 that Cashmoney bent :P Dee went above and beyond installing this kit, He made sure that it left perfect and was finished to his expectations . He adjust all the bracketry to fit my WJ perfect even added longer brake lines, stretched the front out a couple inches, added bump stops (so I don't rub anymore) and adjusted the steering perfect !!!! No more Super Death Wobble!!!! She also drives straight now!! :D Thanks again Dee can't wait to take the WJ out on the trails ! Pics:
Keep it clean!
... butt and wait for a job to come up, so I will create a job for me, and a few others. I have an offer to buy "shelf pulls" of brand name men, women and children's clothing. I will also get accessories like purses, belts, watches etc... Shelf pills is brand new clothes, with the manufacturer tags on. I am planning to retail the clothes for about 30% of MSRP. I am looking for people that can resell the clothes, I am thinking of home party's (like Tupperware do), or similar, I have a few ideas.
What about a thread or something where when someone sees, or gets a picture of another member you can ask to see who it was? (i'm stealing this idea from another forum.)

If any of the hams on here are in the area, please monitor 146.520 Simplex. All, This came via the SNARS website late last night. I haven't had a chance to call Tonya yet to see if her husband has made contact yet. If you live up in Truckee or at Lake Tahoe, please give a call for N3XFD on local area repeaters and the calling channel, 146.520...
So I started an honest thread...it got hijacked so I played along. Then rather then let adults be adults and have some fun...the mods delete threads...then even though people are laughing and still having a good time it gets closed...:pissed::rofl2: Seriously whatever happened to this place that you can't joke around but people can go on for seven pages of rants and political mumblings and those threads get pretty darn heated and mean and nasty but are okay? Guess some mods have nothing better to do. Its so sad when people can dish it out but can't take it and I didn't even attack or put anyone down. :bustedrun: This isn't a put down session just an honest question as to why some members get a slap in the face treatment while others run rampid? And before people tell me to go back to Therockgods if I want to post silly stuff remember this I didn't start any of the shenanigans in my thread.

I have a semi old school 1972 Honda CB450 that i'm just not sure what to do with. I was going the cafe racer route but ran out of funds among other things. So now i am debating on selling it or just making the time to get this fun little toy moving again. At the moment it is just rotting on the side of my house. What would you do?
Does anyone know of a guide or chart that can show me Reno's allergy seasons? Or even a website to tell me the current allergies? Thanks
>>Linky<<
Would anyone here be willing to help me do a wheel bearing sometime this weekend or next? I've never done one but all the repair manuals make it seem pretty straight forward. The main tool needed should be the hydraulic press, maybe a ball joint puller (everyone keeps telling me to use a hammer... Maybe? I dunno, whatever works) I'm happy to provide a 12 pack of the beverage of your choice for your troubles. Like I said I've never done a wheel bearing, but I'm estimating it to be a 2 hour job unless you're a kick ass ninja who can teach me how to do it quickly.
:birthday:
I saw a bright yellow tj out on a powerline road in Ferntucky. Talked to the two guys for a few seconds but we were trying to limp my buddies truck home and didn't get their names. I noticed a Dr. Smash Designs sticker on the hood. I was just trying to find out of they were local cause I need more built rigs to wheel with out in Ferntucky. Thanks.
...at Scolari's....:chuckle:
1975 CJ5 304 V8 Levis edition original wheels original spare tire. It did flop on its side about 20 years ago in town on a paved road. but had minor damage but the does have a salvage title. I have the stock seats still but they need to be recoved, this is as close to as new for the year that you will get. My Dad bought this in TX same month and year I was born so we are the original owners one not in as nice condition is going for $11,000 on Ebay.
I have a rear bumper from a TJ modified to fit a XJ. I got it from Charlie 'bout seven years ago. It has a "Resurrected Crawlers" sticker on it. Anyone know who they were/are and if there's any members still around.
Being a good Minnesota boy I love fresh cheese curds. By fresh I mean 24-48 hours old at the most (there is a difference if they are older). Deep fried cheese curds and I'm in heaven. So I'm having a craving lately that I need to satisfy. Problem is I can't find any. The Smiths by me had some but they weren't that good (i.e. more than a week old when they hit the shelf) and they stopped carrying them anyways. Specifically what I'm looking for is a local or nearby cheese maker. Something as far away as Sacramento would be ok (gas is cheap). Its an unusual request to be sure.
