For those who like to pedal.
My kiddo has a 20" specialized mountain bike that fits him really good. The problem is, he is constantly getting flats. I've tried the following: Slime - Worked out, but find it gets to be too liquid like to plug larger goathead holes. "Heavy Duty" tubes w/slime already in them: They are thicker which is nice, but the slime is almost like water as it shoots out and never seals the hole. Doubled up an old cut tube on top of a new tube: Best so far, but still I had to pull it apart last night and patch the inner tube because of a big goathead. He rides his bike to school everyday, and i'm bummed today because I left for work and didn't check his back tire, which was flat. So he had to walk. I need a longer term solution, anyone have any ideas?
Hey - I now work at a bicycle shop. If anyone wants some no BS advice on bikes, please come see me. I'll give Reno 4x4 members a discount where I can. Ask for Jed . . . pm me for shop info, etc.

If you are interested in trying out some high end carbon mountain bikes, the Ibis factory demo truck will be at Bicycle Bananas this afternoon. Later they will have bikes available at the Tuesday Night Ride Group, which will meet at the softball fields on N Virginia St at 5:45p, Sorry if this post is a bit commercial. But I thought some people here would appreciate the notice. www.ibisbikes.com
I have an 83 Nishiki Road Bike that I love. But it needs alot of TLC and I dont really want to work on it, I just want to ride it haha. The Tires should be replaced, wheels should be trued, It has no brakes, and just needs to be went over with a fine tooth comb. Its Getting nice and this thing is calling my name I just wish It wasnt such a POS.
If you happen to have your Tuesday evenings free, this is a great group to go ride with: http://sports.groups.yahoo.com/group/TNRG/
Hello how can you tell how much travel your fork has. Looking online I've found that mine came in two types 80mm and 100mm. In the picture the space in between the red lines is a little over 80mm. That seems to be the max travel or does the travel go all the way to the green line? thanks
I have a Trek 6 series from 2 years ago 26's with 2.1 wide tires. I saw 2.3 and wider tires and was wondering what the ride difference is. I live in Incline so what i ride is mainly dirt.
I hate doing the climbing, but I'd love to drive to the top of Peavine and then ride downhill. Who'd be interested in organizing something along those line this summer? Does anyone in tow does this already?
Bicycle Bananas is looking to hire 1 or 2 bicycle mechanics. Bike experience necessary. Send resume to employment@bicyclebananas.com
Just wanted to remind everyone that I work at Bicycle Bananas. If I can help any Reno 4x4 people with their bike needs please let me know. I now work in back managing the webstore, but don't be shy about asking for me. I usually work M-F 9-4:30. The shop is moving to a new location this month, so things might be a bit crazy. We're just moving to the next shopping center over, by Kohls and Safeway.
