Did anyone put for spring this year? Me and my old man did. If I don't draw the tag I want then I may get an OTC tag for Churchill. Tag results are the 5th.
It's a walking stick that converts into a fishing rod. The brand is Hawaiian Angler model no. TR 164. It only has one eyelet on the very end, it's pretty cool and I have no idea where my dad found it. I can't find any info online about it.
????????
anyone here shoot a hoyt or mathews bow? I already have a diamond setup that I use exclusively for hunting. I'm really looking into both of the above brands. I'm going to be doing a little bit of hunting but mostly 3-d and range shooting.
I get emails from Field and Stream and this link came and it has some really amazing shots in it. These have all been published in F&S' "First Shot" section of the their magazine. I thought some of you guys might like it. http://www.fieldandstream.com/photos/gallery/hunting/whitetails/2009/01/first-shot-2008-year-outdoor-photos

I'm wanting to get a rifle for mainly deer hunting and was wondering which was the best choice, I'm thinking about maybe a .270, 30.06, or a 7mm but I have little experience with rifles dont really know which would be best.
The cod was so heavy that the hook on pilk bent. leisure fisher Knut Ove Randøy (65) from Kongshavn in Aust-Agder still managed to get the huge Christmas cod at 26 kg on the boat. -I must admit that the heart skipped a bit when I got it on board. The cod was taken on gummimakken. -My old record was 19 kilograms, so this was the somewhat larger, chuckles Randøy, very pleased with Sunday's catch taken in the Norwegian Trench, 40 nautical mil offshore. Giant cod measuring the 110 centimeters from beard to tail check, and weighs 21 kilograms fully gutted. It is enough fish flesh to feed over 50 people. Now the big cod heads right in the freezer. The job of eating up the beast starts next year. -There are a lot of fish for dinner in the coming year, "said Randøy.

Just got home after harvesting an antelope in 051, near the Oregon border. About a 250 yard shot with my .06 and he dropped like a rock. Cutting up the meat today, but just wanted to hear if anyone else had any luck? Hopefully I'll have pics uploaded tomorrow. He was pretty small, but it was my first antelope hunt and had my 9 yo on his first big game hunt, so it was a trophy to us:thumbsup:
Just got him yesterday from a friend of mine. The parents are great retrievers and his mom even points. He is a great dog which makes 3 great dogs for me I already have an english pointer and a german shorthair. His name is Ruger and he is a 5 week old chocolate lab. Just thought I would share because I am stoked.
This summer my niece broke my spin fishing rod. Last week I was in UT on a hiking/fishing trip and I sat there for 2 days, not catching a thing while across the lake I saw 2 fly fishermen reel in quite a few. Those two things have made up my mind and I am going to get a fly rod and reel set up. I have taken a class at Orvis, which was awesome especially since they let me use a $700 rod and a nice reel too, but other than that I am as green as it gets. I was at Scheels the other day and the guy there recommended a $185 reel/rod combo to get me started and then 12-14 odd flies to get me going as well, and some leaders and a box to carry the flies in too. Are there any other fly fishermen out there that have any advice or could point me in the right direction to get started?
i shot my first bull elk yesterday and was 25 miles from camp. it was getting dark fast . so what else could i do? the bull is a 6x5 and weighs about 600 lbs. gutted. it took 3 of us but we got him in.:D i don't think the designers at jeep had me in mind when they came up with the liberty, or they would have added a lift gate and a drain.
This years antelope. Unofficial score was 80  Nice thick base and ivory tips. http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y27/jbaden/SPEEDGOAT.jpg?t=1255059690 http://www.monstermuleys.info/dcforum/DCForumID41/511.html
Nevada big game tags are due soon get them in. Just wanted to put up a reminder.
Why is it so hard for people to pick up their spent shotgun shells or brass? If you ask me thats no different than tossing a soda can out the window on a trail ride. If you go out shooting, bring it all back with you. As Sportsman we need to do our part to keep the hills clean. When a hiker comes across spent shotgun shells in the field, it makes all of us look bad. Dove is here, chukar and qual is just around the corner, so bird hunters DO your part! If you're a retard that leaves all your sh!t in the field, shame on you..:nono:
Anyone go out past China Springs, down a steep rocky hill, to one fork of the Carson River? I cant remember if its west or east fork but you head in at China Springs near broken dam and head back maybe 3 to 5 miles. Im wondering if anyone has fished there recently after they stocked the river. We were pulling them out at the dam but I want to head back a bit further and hope the fish have eaten, swam, and grown bigger. Any tips are appreciated. X marks the spot http://i394.photobucket.com/albums/pp23/zener6/river.jpg
I just got back home from a three day fly fishing trip to Bishop. My wife and I go down every year for our anniversary. The fishing was very different from years past. Fish were deeper, the lake had less weeds, and the water seemed colder. The fishing was not as good as years past. Best areas were intake, on the way to south lake and sabrina. Hot creek was really good. Lower Owens was about average, upper ownes was good with small fish. Pleasant valley was very good too, but small fish. Troy
