Reposting because the old thread was gone? Well started on my Jeep trailer today. I will take a few more pictures when I cut up the other one to fit it. Got side tracked on pictures. Here is what the first one looks like. Don't know where the bottom of the tubs will be cut until I cut the other one up. So I'm looking to pick up a 2000 Ford Excursion. Downside is that its stock...tire size at least. I cant drive it like that...would play with my masculinity. HAHAHAHA So what i'm asking is what would a good kit be? I have looked at both fabtech,procomp and skyjacker...fabtech has some nice stuff but its bling..both the procomp and skyjacker use rear blocks :( but I can order the springs but for some reason almost doubles the price??? I was thinking of a 33" to 35"..then of course gearing needs to be addressed...it spirals out of control so fast doesnt it. Also depends on if this is a kit I can install? Looks like it since its leaf springs or have ORI or that other place...umm damn name escapes me right now....

I helped a friend install a BD super b turbo on his 1996 12v cummins this weekend. He is having hard start issues and blowing whitish smoke when on the throttle. I have heard you can turn up the fuel pump to increase fuel and help with the start and lean burn issues. Help!

This is going to be my next project I think. I don't want anything over the top right now, just a nice small trailer that I can haul gear in for camping trips. I don't plan on taking it on the Con or any really gnarly trails, I just need it so I can fit my whole family, dog and gear in my rig. I found this guy's build and I am going to copy it, since it meets all my requirements and looks dang easy. http://www.wildyoats.com/off_road_trailer_build.htm Any ideas on what to improve on his design and still keep it easy and cheap to build? Ok, so I love cruise control...but a few months back it started getting temperamental on me, then a about a month after that it stopped working all together. I checked the fuses and whatnot and as far as that goes all is well. I try to engage it almost every time i get in the car hoping it will work, and never does. Then all of a sudden last weekend I was towing the company trailer and my cruise control worked perfectly! I unhook the trailer and it stops working again:censor::pissed::censor:. Now, the ONLY thing i can think of off the top of my head is that my left blinker is temperamental and rarely works. But when a trailer is attached it recognizes a functioning blinker. Could this have anything to do with it??? Or what else could be the cause of this?

So I have a trailer that I would like to set up for my camping and kayaking rig. It doesn’t look like much now, but It will once I figure out what to do. The door swings up and open on one side, with the other solid. The door is two parts that have a frame with a piano hinge running the leanth of the door on the roof. Both the front and back have drawbridge doors on them, the front one is a joke though since it cant be lowered wile hooked up and both hinges are crap and screwed in the plywood on the floor. What I need help with if figuring out is some kind of system that I can weld in so that someone could open the side door like a awning and would hold the weight that any wind would put on it. I need it so my little sister can open this thing by her self if needed. Right now its got two bars with pegs welded on the end that you put in holes drilled in the frame! Very unsafe! My future projects are to widen the rear drawbridge door so that I can ride my scooter up and take...

Since my Frontier is for sale, I am starting to look at other trucks. Looking to buy couple years old. What are the pros and cons of the above mentioned diesels? The years I am looking for are 2002-2004.

me and my dad have been looking into putting an aftermarket fuel plat on. I've only herd good on them but we were wondering if anyone on here has changed theres? Any information or input you have would be great! :thumbsup:

This is for someone else on the board, but he hasn't posted it up yet. Looking for ideas on how to make a 4Door, F350, 4x4, Diesel, into a 6x6, with a flatbed for hauling a rig based on a Toyota chassis. Specifically rear suspension/axle ideas, that won't require permanent modifications of the factory frame/rear axle. I can't really describe my idea, as well as I can visualize it, but here goes. Tie into the existing class V hitch in the rear, as the rear mounting point, adding some structural support and possibly some tie in's to the frame, up by the factory rear axle. The front of the bed would bolt into the factory bed mounting holes and have some side plates to come down the sides of the factory frame to provide additional support and side to side control of the flatbed portion.

I'm basically the middle man trying to help someone find out if buying this trailer would be a good investment. Long story short: My mom's b.f. had to pawn his 2005 MH 20' x 8' tandem axle, dual brake w/ emergency brake-away trailer that has an 8' diamond plate toolbox on it. He got $1000 for it and if he doesn't come up w/ the original $1000 + $250 interest by this coming Monday @ 5pm, bye bye trailer. My mom isn't stupid enough to loan him the money, so she was wondering if she went to the pawn shop and paid the $1250 and bought it outright, if she'd be getting a good deal. I've looked at the local Craigslist and the Craigslist in Oregon where she's at to kind of get a ball-park figure, but I wanted to throw this thread out for anyone who knows more about this than I (which I know nothing about trailers :( ) So would it be a good deal or should she say Sorry Sucker - sucks to have pawned your trailer?

I need Military Tires for my M416 trailer. Hey guys, anyone have any leads on a pair of new 7.00x16 Military Non-directional tires for my green box. Also need a spare for it 16"x 4.5" wheel and Military tubes. I want to keep this thing somewhat authentic in appearance. Came from L.A. where a collector who owned two has given them up. He always had them in events and parades. The libs continually complained to the city about his two vehicles due to the original non-functional machine guns mounted in the jeeps. Yup, they banned him from the parades. He should have kept them and refitted the guns for the future! My wife doesn't know it yet but I'm negotiating to purchase the 2nd one. I'll sell the one that gets second place. I need new tires simply because these are cracked between treads. For 50 years old though it's mint. Not many of these around that were garage kept for half a century just so I could beat them up in the new millenium. Paid way to much for it but when...

Long story short, I took a truck in trade from a gentleman that could'nt pay me! The truck is some what gut less, when on the highway it shift's into passing gear with the slightest of incline in the road, very irritating! I got an 18 foot flatbed that looks ****ty but it works to haul my jeep, but I dont have a place to store it. Anybody seen/have one of these? My intent is to carry a generator on the back of my 31' Coachmen, about 150 pounds. I'd like to know where/if I can find something, and where I could get it installed. All I ever see are bike racks. Or the hitch mounted racks. Any suggestions on whether it's too much weight.

I have a 1990 f350 with an e40d transmission and I found a really good deal on an e40d out of a 96 with the same motor but I don't know if it's interchangeable. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
