I found this on a Norwegian website and did a translate (translation may be a little goofy, but I trust you to figure it out). 1. Sort by windows When you work with two windows in Windows 7, they can share the screen equally between themselves. By taking hold of the title bar and drag it to the right or left of the screen, customize the window itself to the half side of the screen you left it on. This works with most applications. This can be done also with keyboard shortcuts: Windows key + Left Arrow moves the active window on the left, while the Windows key + Right Arrow moves the active window on the right. Smart!
I have a small Stinger 10 watt guitar amp that has been sitting a while and when I turned it on the volume control...and a couple of more controls... were real scratchy and cutting out. I pulled the chassis and sprayed the pots with contact cleaner and it sort of helped but now it's right back to scratchy and cutting out. Any electronics experts know if there is any way to save the pots or do I have to replace them? They are small pots soldered to the main board.
I have a Gateway Tablet PC that would go blue screen during boot. I tried the recovery but it did the same thing. Booting from installation disk didn't help because it instantly recognized the recovery partition on the hard drive and started it back up to repeat the above blue-screen process. On a whim, I borrowed a Windows 7 installation disk and it appeared to fix everything. I could even find all my old files. During the installation I had the chance to run Chkdsk. there were several bad sectors. I think that was my whole problem. This morning I replaced the hard drive and went ahead with a OEM copy of Windows 7. From what I've heard, this may be the best Windows yet. I've even been told that it's better than Windows 2000 (my favorite). Anyone care to share their experience on this? What are the downfalls? advantages?
The application, which was filed in February and published Thursday, specifically describes the identification of “hacking, jailbreaking, unlocking, or removal of a SIM card” so that measures can be taken to counter the user. Possible responses include surreptitiously activating the iPhone's camera, geotagging the image and uploading it to a server and transmitting sensitive data to a server and then wiping it from the device. http://www.theregister.co.uk/2010/08/20/apple_jailbreak_patent/
Anyone else using Google apps Premier? Im particularly looking for someone that understands and can program the shared contacts API. Sharing of contacts outside your domain is a PIA without using exchange server. There is one company that will do it for around $350 but i think that might be a little high. Thanks
What’s a good alternative to google? I want a new home page.
I recently bought a new Gateway and it comes with a 60 day trial of Norton. I,ve heard bad things about Norton. So whats everybody's opinion? What program should I get?
German opposition to Google Google will let the German people have the right to deny against their dwellings are visible in Google Street View. Google automated translation, not very good, but you get the point: http://translate.google.com/translat...&sl=auto&tl=en
I use my very expensive:P Kodak CD82 digital camera for taking videos too and it does a good job but the videos are Quicktime and huge. Is there any way to 1- Change the format in the camera..I looked at the manual and menu but couldn't find any way. 2- Make the huge video smaller in size without making it unviewable 3- Covert it to a different format easily. I have several porgram that do that but they are very hard to use and the results leave something to be desired.
I dont know much about macs and I know there are a few of you on here that do. My question is what is the best way for running windows programs, specifically autocad, on a mac? Is it actually running a dual boot setup with windows? or I have heard about apps that will run windows programs in the mac os. Thanks
I am going to be getting a new laptop and I really don't know too much about the guts of a computer. I am looking at a few different options and I could really use help deciding on which one would be best for me. I am not a gamer. I mostly use my computer for browsing the internet and listening to music. I watch a lot of youtube videos and I hate waiting. I am planning on using the laptop for the above mentioned stuff and work. For work I will mostly be using it for looking at service info and programming modules (you really don't need that strong of a computer for that stuff). Of these three options, which one would be the best for me? I don't mind spending a little more if it's worth it. Thank you in advance. Instead of pasting 3 links here is a link with the 3 computers I am looking at (and 2 others). They are the first 3 ($399-$549). http://www.dell.com/content/topics/segtopic.aspx/deals/popular_laptops?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs&~ck=mn
The last post of the internet.
So I got a new phone today, I pretty much refuse to buy an iPhone (or any other Apple product for that matter), so I got a Palm Pre. This thing is friggin' awesome and may very well give some of my friends with iPhones phone envy. A few key features: -It can act as a WiFi hotspot for up to 5 devices (i.e. anywhere I have cell signal I can use my laptop wirelessly). -When at home, I can use my home WiFi network on the unit for data transfer instead of the cell service. That helps offset the one negative; I am limited to 5 GB of transfer per month from my cell carrier. -Google Maps runs in realtime with my location as I am cruising down the road. I found that to be very cool.

So I have a spot on the front of the tower on my computer that accepts the memory stick from my digital camera. Big question here.... once I plug it in, nothing pops up, so now what do I do? I'm not a computer wiz, so.... :drowninga:
From the Norwegian newspaper Aftenposten.no Norway have developed a cyber military... Not the best translation, but you will get the point.... http://translate.google.com/translate?js=y&prev=_t&hl=en&ie=UTF-8&layout=1&eotf=1&u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.aftenposten.no%2Fnyheter%2Farticle3705832.ece&sl=no&tl=en
Yes, I am starting a new internet radio station. I could use some stuff. any old harddrive IDE or SCSI and ram PC 100 or 133 Mhz. Just old junk to most, but will help me. If this takes off. I am going to offer FREE ad's to vendors. I don't feel you should be charged to advertise on the internet. The internet is full of ad's and crap as it is. The bandwidth is a joke, and is over 500% markup. here is the website, http://www.phantomrage.com
video phone calls! HD video! game over - I'm getting one as soon as it hits the stores
So I switched from charter, to clearwire, to At&t. I have used a d-link DIR-655 wireless router for the first two ISP's. Now it seems the at&t does not want to connect to the web with this router. I have tries resetting the router changing all my settings, and nothing works! The at&t router is a westell. Ant suggestions?
I've been using Ubuntu for a while now, but decided to give Linux Mint a try. If you're considering switching from Windows, they really made it easy for you. Menubar is in the same place, main menu is similar in layout, coupled with all the good stuff Linux has to offer, it's a good system. Now if I could just figure out how to make Playon.tv server to run on Linux I'd be happy.
Just passing this sweet deal that I found on another forum. $24.00 + free shipping (+tax) http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/products/Video_Conferencing/productdetail.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=dhs&cs=19&sku=468-6000&dgc=CJ&cid=24471&lid=566643&acd=10550055-1225267-u0t2034762f9fp34932c0s441 From what I hear, these usually sell for $60+ and have excellent reviews. Here they are on amazon.com for $60 and a few reviews http://www.amazon.com/Dell-2-1-Multimedia-Speaker-System/dp/B0031ESKJ0/ref=sr_1_fkmr1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1275511862&sr=8-1-fkmr1
I accidentally e-mailed a 532mb e-mail & outlook stopped sending & I can't delete it from the out box because outlook says it is in the process of sending (since 3:30pm). I click on send/receive and it goes through but the mail is still in the outlook box. I figured it would have sent and the recipient couldn't handle it so I would just delete it, but so far no go. Any tips on how to delete this piece of mail. Thanks, jim
I had a domain registered for a while but never did anything with it. Today I went with Bluehost for hosting. Now I just need a good editor and template. The last time I did this was with Front Page Express which doesn't seem to exist anymore. Any recommendations?
I'm getting ready to move and i'm trying to figure out my internet options. I have verizon DSL now and it's fine for what I need. Unfortunately it's not available in the house we are moving too. WTF? New neighborhood, nicer places?? No DSL haha ah ok. So my choices are as follows Charter: Pros: Fast, seems reliable Cons: EXPENSIVE, Expensive monthly, expensive to start it up Clearwire: Pros: Cheaper - I can get a free modem from Best buy and it's cheaper monthly. Cons: I've heard it's much less reliable than the other options
I have an old PC I would like to use for EchoLink and it has windows 2000 on it. I do have a XP upgrade disc but the Win2000 won't accept the upgrade. Is there anything that can be done to accept the upgrade? I'm just not sure the EchoLink will work w/Win2000? I do have two extra hard drives w/XP on them but the PC won't come up. Like I said, its an older unit.
