I need to get internet for home. Reliable and fast is nice, but cheap is king. How are those USB things that work with whatever computer they are plugged into? What are some of the prices and options? What do you pay for internet? I don't currently download movies or watch much streaming video, but might if I get Netflix again. I mostly just look up information, read the news, and come here.:yup:
Man, I can't wait, I love this game. If anyone has some really good/hard community maps please post them up. :yup: http://pc.ign.com/articles/107/1074758p1.html
Anyone on here know how to create them? Or know someone that can?
I downloaded skype and it looked pretty good but when I opened IE it would bring up continuous supply of help page windows and no way to stop them. Anybody have that happen? In order to get it to stop I had to uninstall skype.
I know I have been asking you all a lot latley, but I need some more help. I lost my install disc for my laptops wifi card (I know I have it, but finding it will be a challenge). I reloaded xp on it (had some issues with the old xp), and now need to reinstall the card. The card is a linksys brand adapter and I was able to download the driver off of their site. They do not offer a setup wizard and I contacted them about how to load the driver, but they will not help me because the card is out of warranty (last time I buy their stuff). How do I manually load this driver? Thank you
 I am trying to set up my outlook express so I can access my email account easier. I get to the same spot everytime and can't seem to go any further because I don't understand what the prompt is asking for. If someone here could help me I'd appreciate it. Thank you in advance. I get to where it asks what my incoming mail server is in a drop down window it has a few different options: POP3, IMAP, or HTTP. The next box say's incoming mail (pop3, imap, http)server: there is a fill in the blank box after that, and then it say's an smtp server is the server that is used for you outgoing email. Outgoing mail (smtp)server: there is a fill in the blank box after that. I have at&t dsl and have a yahoo email account. I tried to print screen/copy and paste to a word document so it would be easier to explain, but I can't even seem to do that right. Again, thank you
Where i could get a decently cheap laptop in town? Mine has finally decided to start dying. We've had this laptop since '04 i think, and its time for an upgrade. This one has more viruses than i can count and takes forever to load anything. Something new would be nice but refurbished works too. I only want to spend a max of 300. And i don't want to get one of those dang net book things (too small). Thank you in advance for your suggestions.
This is driving me nuts. Anytime I am watching a youtube video and resize the video for full screen it causes the mousepad on my laptop not to work:confused: Sometimes it starts working again quickly and other times it wont work for the rest of the night.
Thinking about switching over to the dark side and gettin a Mac Book Pro. Just curious what i could get for my current laptop if i were to sell it. I Paid around $2000 less than a year ago. Still has 2 more years on Costco's concierge support to fix issues (and Costco Concierge people actually speak English and they will talk to the middle east people for you to get HP to fix your computer!) Is this a real threat, or a hoax to sell more cyber security services? What do you think? Hackers in Europe and China successfully broke into computers at nearly 2,500 companies and government agencies over the last 18 months in a coordinated global attack that exposed vast amounts of personal and corporate secrets to theft, according to a computer-security company that discovered the breach.
I have a Toshiba laptop running XP pro. I have Spybot installed. When I run Spybot it comes back with no problems found. I want to do my taxes on this computer, but want to make darn sure its safe. Is there other software that can find stuff spybot can't? I also don't want to load the computer up so bad with anti software that is runs slow. Whats the best way to do this?

We have an old computer at work that is used for a scan tool. Recently Land Rover came out with a new version of that scan tool with new software. The software requires 1gb of ram. They sent us a new laptop that meets that demand, I am trying to upgrade our old one so we can have a second one. Our laptop currently has 256 mb of ram. I contacted dell and they said the laptop can only handle 512 mb of ram (2 x 256 sticks). I found a company that offers 1 gb of ram (2 x 512 sticks) for our laptop and they said it would work fine in our laptop. Who should I believe? This stuff is all confusing to me. The computer in question is a dell latitude c510. Thank you

Windows patch cripples XP with blue screen, users claim Angry customers blame MS10-015 for Blue Screen of Death, XP reboot hell Computerworld - Tuesday's security updates from Microsoft have crippled Windows XP PCs with the notorious Blue Screen of Death (BSOD), users have reported on the company's support forum. Complaints began early yesterday, and gained momentum throughout the day. "I updated 11 Windows XP updates today and restarted my PC like it asked me to," said a user identified as "tansenroy" who kicked off a growing support thread. "From then on, Windows cannot restart again! It is stopping at the blue screen with the following message: 'A problem has been detected and Windows has been shutdown to prevent damage to your computer.'"
Is there anyway to remove all user added programs and files to get my computer back to when xp was first installed? I want to remove all of the files and basically everything except for xp. This is on xp professional. Thank you
This is sad, and hilarious. From the The ARRL Letter, Vol. 28, No. 36, September 11, 2009: Faster Than a Speeding Pigeon?: In South Africa, an information technology company proved that it was faster for them to transmit data with a carrier pigeon than to send it using Telkom, the country’s leading Internet service provider. Internet speed and connectivity in Africa’s largest economy are poor due to a shortage of bandwidth and its high cost. Local news agency SAPA reported that on September 9, an 11 month old pigeon named Winston took 68 minutes to fly the 50 miles from Unlimited IT’s offices near Pietermaritzburg to the coastal city of Durban with a data card strapped to his leg. Including downloading, the transfer took two hours, six minutes and 57 seconds — the time it took for only four percent of the data to be transferred using a Telkom line. SAPA said Unlimited IT performed the stunt after becoming frustrated with slow internet transmission times. The company ...

So im looking for some opinions!! Right now we have a wireless G network out in the shop. Using 3 wap54g access points. We have been experiencing a lot of interference lately from all the high voltage machines. Im thinking about switching to wireless N and some better access points. Does anyone have any experience with N? Would it be better for filtering out electrical interference? Or would I be better off just getting better G access points? Thanks
I Think im going to have to buy one. I think it would make things in class much easier rather than carrying around my tempremental HP. And only for $500! http://www.apple.com/ipad/ipad-video/#medium

I found this on a Norwegian website and did a translate (translation may be a little goofy, but I trust you to figure it out). 1. Sort by windows When you work with two windows in Windows 7, they can share the screen equally between themselves. By taking hold of the title bar and drag it to the right or left of the screen, customize the window itself to the half side of the screen you left it on. This works with most applications. This can be done also with keyboard shortcuts: Windows key + Left Arrow moves the active window on the left, while the Windows key + Right Arrow moves the active window on the right. Smart!
