OK, so I don't compete. My rig is carberated, leaf sprung, etc but is modified riding on 39.5's. How can we find out what kind of rigs we'll be competing against. I'm with the Stompers and we do trail riding. My highlight was another member, Glen and I, pariticipating in UA 2007 and being given the "Hardcore Award" from Clifton Slay and the Petersens 4 Wheel and Offroad crew. This event wasn't like a rock crawling competition at all. I have junk yard built stuff and while it holds up well I don't have Prorock 60's, EFI, Etc.

Is there somewhere were we can go to find out about the club challenge portion of the event and possibly more about the rock crawl competition part. What class would I compete in? I'm interested but at the same time know my rigs limits and I'm not interested if I can't compete. I know what I can do driving. I'm sure you know what I'm saying.

BTW, I did check out the Reno blog.

    Hi Jake,

Sounds like you've got quite a rig. Bob from Surplus City Jeep Parts will post answers to your questions shortly. We look forward to seeing you at Reno Rocks!

From what you have explained about your rig you would be in the Super Modified Class. The rules for that class are located in the download section of this forum. If you have any other questions please let me know and I will do my best to answer them. You will have a great time. Hope to see you in Reno in June.

    Hi Dan,

Thanks for the feedback. Did you look at the Rock Crawl rules in the Downloads section of this forum? They are from event director Bob Frank from Surplus City Jeep Parts. If you have questions that the posted information doesn't answer, please post them here and Bob will answer them for you.

    Exclamation about a club

See if I got this straight, I have to live in N. Nevada in order to compete on wed or Thurs? I'm in 2 clubs Yuba Sutter Hillbillys out of Marysville Ca. and also with the Rubicon Rockheads Out of Placer County. I would love to represent 1 of these clubs in the event but I need to know if it is possible to enter. kinda need this answer asap so I don't miss this next entry due date. Thank and by the way Had a great time in Oroville and hope to do the same in Reno

Looks like it is geared toward tire size, so you would be in modified group and my jeep would be in super mods with 37's

You are more than welcome to compete on Wednesday-Thursday! The Club Challenge idea is to give the local clubs something fun to talk about and compete for, but everyone is welcome.

So are you saying there is a big probability of rollovers in the super modified class doing the club challenge.

I'm sending in my registration in the next few days. I"m with Jake in the Stompers as well. It should be a fun time. And even better is that I'm off Wed/Thurs/Fri right now

My rig is my avatar on 38.5" SX's so I'll be in the super modified class.

Jake try not to make the rest of us look stupid out there.

No, we all know Shinobi and he survived a very scary head-on accident on the where his Cherokee wound up upside down on the freeway. The headline on the forum read something like "oh no, Shinobi's Jeep upside down on the news!" Luckily he and his girlfriend came through it bruised but otherwise unscathed and he is building a bigger and badder rig!

The Plan right now is to have an A group and a B group. The A group will crawl the first night and do the teeter totter and other side events the second night. The B group will do their side events the first night and crawl the second night. It's not set in stone yet, we're still going over the options.

Registration (if there is space still available, pre-register to guarantee a spot) and Tech will be from 1 to 4 on Wednesday. Tech will be located on the north side of the tracks outside the Sands east building. Use the entrance off Fourth Street between Mel's Diner and Arlington Ave. Easiest freeway access is off Keystone instead of Virginia; exit at Keystone and go south the Fourth Street (Jack in the Box), go east past the Sands and turn in just before the light at Arlington.

When you tech on Wednesday you will do a pill draw for running position and also a pull for Group A or Group B. Group A will run the rock course on Wednesday while Group B does the Teeter Totter and the RTI Ramp. Then on Thurdsday Group B will run the rock Course and Group A will do the Teeter Totter and RTI Ramp.

Tech is only on Wednesday from 1pm till 4pm. Divers meeting will be at 4pm. Competition will begin at 5pm.

Depending on the number registered there might be some changes to this schedule. Please check back from time to time for updates.

I sent in my entry form but havent heard anything. I believe I saw it somewhere but am not sure. How do I make sure that my entry didnt get lost in mail? What time do we have to be there Wens? When do we find out if we compete Wens/Thurs? Is there a general breakdown of how and what is to happen? thanks
I always have the ability to say something to offend someone somewhere.

It's people like you that make me look smart.

No, don't take it personally. I offend everyone, it's my gift.

I sent in my entry and $. Is there some way to determine what nite I get to wheel? I'm not really interested in the RTI or Teeter todder. I'm taking off work early to be there, so I dont really want to show up just to be told to come back the next nite. I work 70+ miles away and live 30 miles away. Thanx RD
