I still have a few prizes from the raffle that no one have picked up yet.
This is last warning to the ones that received an email, or a PM notifying them about their prize, if not claimed by this Friday February 13 2009, the remaining prizes be placed out as Geocaches in the greater Reno area for a scavenger hunt weekend...

Scavenger start time, coordinates/maps will be published when all caches is placed out.

You will be able to participate even if you don't have a GPS, maps will be published together with the coordinates.

Volunteers to place out caches is welcome.

I know I'm not one, but I think you should make this for premium members. Keeps the odds good, and non-members from snatching them.

Speaking of which, i dont think the maps should be offered freely, people enter, then gets the maps etc PMed rather than posting them in the public eye

Yes, I will need help to place out the caches, and some brainstorming how to do this, rules etc.

One rule I am thinking about is that it has to be two vehicle teams, for safety.

So if we do tandem vehicles for safety, will there be two prizes at each cache? If not who gets the prize? Will the list of prizes be published?

The more challenging it is to find the cache the better. Not that you should need a crazy off road rig to get to it or anything but geocaches with puzzles where you don't just get a set of coords, drive, park, hike a little and find it are better than the easy kind. A little brain power to find them is a good idea IMO.

Yes, it will be two caches together, one for each vehicle, maybe not at the exact same spot, but reasonable close.

What would be a good time this weekend to meet and finalize everything, I would like to have the caches out this weekend, and do the run next weekend?

Are you guys going on the V-day run? we are.. can talk then some more.. only thing with the GEO.. not everyone has it.. so would need to find a fair way to even the odds with the maps vs GEO's.

Next weekend is the swap meet, and it might be a good idea to give more time to set these. Are you going to need weather proof containers for any of them? If you really want to get into it you could rate the difficulty of find by value of item. I could help out placing them on Sunday if the locating is still going on.
