i pre-cook almost all trail meals and seal it up in meal portions w/ the food saver. Then either boil in water or cut open and just warm it up in a skillet. Pre-cooking tri tips, chicken, pasta, bacon, sausage, etc. saves a lot of time and camp mess. somne items don't work well re-heated, but meats are a perfect way to go. as for trail snacks, thats what ever u want i guess. uh, trail mix? LOL

like this

thing is awesome! Pre-cook meals, separate into trail-sized portions, seal then freeze. boil or re-heat in camp. works great.
or get a muff-pot...

then there are manifold burritos or manifold chili.
there are a number of ways to eat well, tasty, healthy and efficient on the trail. My partner makes up teriyaki chicken and rice, then seals it up and freezes it. in 15 minutes in camp ur eating well. We also did a BBQd steak and mashed taters in a sealed bag and THAT was really nice-- beats burgers/dogs or burned steak anytime. this way also saves on propane.

I used to precook hamburger, wash it with boiling water and dry it for back packing. Mixed with dried veggies, rice and a pack of gravy mix made for a tasty dinner. Much cheaper the buying dry meals.
You make my baby girl cry, I make you bleed! :ar15:
I REALLY like the dried chili mango they sell at Winco. It's a nice blend of salty sweet and spicy. I'd try that in you dehydrator with apples, maybe even peaches.
There are a lot of guys selling cherries on the side of the road lately. They are great dried.

So I just got 10 pounds of beef from butcherboy, should I put the beef and marinade in one of my food saver vacuum jars to marinade it overnight, or just in a regular bowl?
