I only take people or tell people spots that won't go to them more than once or twice a year.....you have to have lots of spots to allow the coveys to reproduce. I told a person once a spot of mine and he decemated the covey in a season by coninually going back. I guess it's like fishing too.

I get some of my spots by a trapper who is out hiking spots everyday and he only tells me cause he knows I won't overhunt it.

    Makes total sense to me.

Coming from FL, I used to have some serious honey holes for landbased saltwater fishing (snapper, snook, grouper etc.). Too many times myself, or friends of mine, would be generous with some info and the next time we would find the fish completely gone because of people that had overfished the spot.

I was just hoping to tag along and watch. I never had much of a chance to hunt back in FL, and I am excited about the possibility. Thats why I got the dog.

you'll have fun. Unfortunately I have labs and although I take them chukar hunting they aren't nearly as good as duck hunting so definately nothing to learn from......they don't point, but they flush and retrieve well, the flushing can get aggravating though if you don't hold 'em back
