    Canyon above Wadsworth

Today HaleyAnthony led us ( Alby, Kyle, and myself) up a small canyon above Wadsworth. About 2 miles up Hwy 447 we turned off on a dirt road heading towards the hills. The road became a trail and then just a creek-bed at the bottom of the canyon. At the top of the canyon were some old mines and eventually we got onto a decent trail again. Hoping to find a back way out, we followed this trail until we got to a pipe-laying operation and one of the workers said we couldn't go beyond that point. So we had to turn around and look for another way out. We couldn't find one, so we had to go back out the way we came in, back down the creek-bed.
The canyon was not too bad, lots of off-camber spots and a few bits of pucker factor. Some good sized rocks along the way but they were passable (mostly) I managed all right on 31's with 2" lift. Lots of mud and some places of deep snow along the way.

    Pics uploading now.....

    The road...

    became a trail...

    which became a creek bed.

Enough introduction...here are a bunch of the pics I took along the way. Some of the others had cameras too so they should be posting up too.

    More pics....

We found several cool mines along the way...This is the largest one with at least 3 verticle shafts to fall into. Mouth of the mine was caved in some, but still open.

And then...back on the trail again....

And a few more random pix along the way.

A little pucker on this one, muddy sidehill and a drop-off on passenger side!

All-in-all it was a good day and fun for all. No carnage other than some new pinstriping !

Looks like fun. Also looks like my truck would fit on that trail, fullsize friendly?

You can fit a fullsize through just about anything if you massage the fenders a bit...

BTW Al: I got my passenger door open. Just had to beat the door sill back into submission. I'm gonna make some sliders pretty soon.
Looking for a 35"+ spare, preferably for a 15" rim.

Was this Olinghouse Road? If so, there's a way through to Warm Springs Valley/SR445. Both Google Maps and BLM show drivable roads/trails. If not (OR), then there's no way through.

Very true, but I am not one of those guys that needs to beat the crap out of my truck to have fun. Especially a truck that I am still making payments on. I believe that you can wheel you stuff hard and not destroy your rockers, doors, fenders and quarter panels all to hell. Scraping my truck across and through rocks narrower than my front door isn't fun to me, if it is for you, cool, it is just not for me.

This is kyle TJ, if u want to treat your truck like that then maybe u should be on a street truck forum. We wheel our stuff and see what it can do and what it can not do. If u do not try u will never know, but thats just me. I pay 600 a month to wheel my stuff, dent, scratch, pin stripe. It all adds character to my jeep.

-I don't understand the purpose of the line, "I don't need to drink to have fun." Great, no one does. But why start a fire with flint and sticks when they've invented the lighter?

I wasn't knocking the rock guys. I was just saying that I am not keen on the dents. My truck has plenty of Nevada pinstripes. How come anybody who doesn't beat the sh it out of their truck is not allowed? There are plenty of trails that I am willing to take my truck on, but like you said, "we wheel our stuff to see what is can and can't do." I know that my truck can't squeeze through 4ft wide canyons, so that is the only reason I asked, because this looked like a new trail that I would be willing to try if I could fit. Just because all of my fenders aren't cruppled and different colors doesn't designate my truck as a street queen.

I agree...no need to destroy something to have fun with it. I don't want to damage my Jeep either, but I'll try to go where I can.

On another note, how about posting all those pics Tori took ???

There may have been a way out, but a pipeline crew was working and wouldn't let us through.

Whoa there. I have no idea why my comment was offensive. That's cool you take care of your stuff. I do too.

Maybe we should all hold hands and sing kumbaya.

Looks cool. Wish I wasn't in classes all day.
