Yea I'm not sure I went to ckrc once and they let me drive one of the cars down there for like 20 mins I think it was a axial. I used to have losi nitro trucks and cars and they were always solid. Just go down and talk to those guys see what they suggest, tfab has a axial body replica of there buggy also right? That'd be sweet

went down to CKRC before class and checked out a couple crawlers. Looks like I'm prob gonna go with the AX10 RTC. Lots of aftermarket support and a good name behind it. I might order it off CKRC today once I figure out what batteries and charger I need. Any suggestions?

Go with RTC, I got ARTR and it was close to $500 once I got it set up. I have spent more since then.

i have a NIKKO 7.2v 1600mAh pack from an old rc car i dont drive anymore. would that work for a couple days? nothing permanent.
also, instead of buying a charger would that batterie's 4 hour quick charger work with any 7.2v battery i bought or is it based on mAh?

For a crawler the 1500mah batteries are more than enough. I can get up to an hour and 15 minutes run time off of one charge. For crawling you don't need high mah batteries since you are drawing power very slowly. Also the high mah batteries have a higher self discharge rate and if you let them sit too long they could discharge so low they can't take a full charge.

I have a axial rtr version but it's a custom stage 2 comp crawler and i love it! bent links 1500 front axle mount batt with custom plates losi crawler tires stock beadlocks just painted and weighed and hpi bug body. i would not go any other brand than axial. and yea there is such a thing as too much flex and i like how the axial is setup.

thing I'm worries about with the axial RTC is that it doesn't have any kind of braking systemwhen on an incline. It looks like the venom creeper does. The creeper looks to have higher quality components as well and comes with everything including battery and charger.

You get your braking from the speed controller. Specifically its called a drag brake, and its what holds the crawler in place on an incline. Some ESCs have a preprogrammed drag brake others allow you to set it to a certain strength.

right now im tunnel visioned on the AX10 RTC or the Creeper

    AX10 w/ batteries = $270-280 shipped
    Creeper w/ everything = $288 shipped

    Creeper is metals
    AX10 is plastics

Other than the full blown comp rigs ive been hearing horror stories about the RTC AX10s lately...
