Beautiful shot, I'm not sure I'd change anything. My only issue with landscape shots is that they all seem to have been done before. This doesn't take anything away from your specific shot, it is just that for me, landscapes are a dime a dozen. Google Convict Lake and you'll see tons of similar shots as Shane's, just not nearly as beautiful.
Huge potential in this shot. What an awesome subject. I wish that the shot was taken closer to the river vendors though with a more interesting angle and I'd like to see it without the photoshop.
I'm not crazy about the exposure or lack of light on the path running up the middle of the shot. The shot has a muddy feel to it for me. I may have waited until it was darker and took it again or taken it with a full moon to light the rest of the scene more.
I'm aching to get to a norcal beach and shoot some shots. I like that you got down low for a different (better) perspective. I would have liked to see a better focus on either just the crab shell or the whole scene entirely in focus.
Great shot. Fun and different. I think I may have liked to see an additional candy wrapper or something thrown it as well to add a little to the shot, but over all,I really enjoy it.
Really cool potential as a subject. A cool thing may have been to get in closer and make try to make the stones look more like an actual full size Stonehenge with a different perspective. From the sounds of it, you were killing time while deer hunting (which is pretty fun way to kill time if you ask me), but it would have also been cool to see the setup cleaned up a little for less subject interference and to make the stones look larger like I mentioned before. Having said that, I realize your main focus was more likely on deer hunting so I can't blame you for not going into too much more detail in setting up this shot. Harsh lighting doesn't do anyone any favors either, but the shadows could have been used more in your favor as well.
thanks for the critique, but idk how to improve the focus. believe or not, i took that pic with my camera phone
i need a real camera lol
Shoot film. You can get a used SLR, a bulk film loader with film, a developing tank and chems for under $200. I can help you learn to use all that stuff.

Shane - I found an old polaroid picture of convict lake from when I was a Kid, I'd love to go back there one of these days...
My mistake... I meant SLR (fixed post). That's a Single Lens Reflex camera. It means that the lens you look through to compose the picture is the same one that is used to expose the film. There is a mirror that flips out of the way just before the shutter opens.
I can give you a crash course on the operation of a 35mm SLR if you like. Just let me know when you've got about an hour to spend on it.
