from what I understand those are pretty quick little engines.

If it was the HO 2.4 turbo it would make it even that much sweeter, but the regular 2.4 turbo still puts out damn near the 4.0

this site will have a project write-up section, as soon as someone writes something up, cause I'm not writing anything up. i work too fast and have no time to stop and take a picture of everything.

Chris heres a stupid ? for the gallery. Why not charge the stock four banger, I've seen advertised outputs as high as 300 HP with the angery 4 bangers force feed.....plus=light...negative=might go boom when abused? I like the idea of a turbo..low HP/Torque at idle (less broken parts) and high HP on demand (depress clutch and spool up, high revs, release clutch, good times). Intersesting build..good luck.
I know the charger kits are 3K plus....but you get to keep most stock stuff (at least for awhile).

I did price out putting a supercharger on my 4 banger but the kit was $3,600.00 so I sould save some money with this swap plus I can just go get parts from the local DC dealer...........

You could always twin turbo it...(it helps cut down lag) and turbos love cold air (maybe some kind of intercooler sprayer ??) C02 or NoS Over the intercooler will help out...I have a turbo 2.0 Eclipse (GSX) And I'll never go back to a neutered 4 banger !!!

I am going to install a intercooler for sure I think I might make a space for it in my bumper I make for the intercooler...
Two Turbo's...I will leave it stock for now so parts are easy to get if needed it should be a big inprovment over my 4 banger now.
I think I might have to make a new intake due to clearince issue I willhave too see. Not a big deal though I can handle making a new intake and exhaust if needed..........

Turbos do not exactly work this way, they are load reactive. So you can't just put the clutch in and rev them up and build boost. Personally I would not plan on using the boost much on the trail anyway. It is really nice when you are cruising down the road to have the power, but low end torque is where it is at on the trail and these motors do not have it. I made up for it with DEEP (223:1) gearing since I have a low compression motor that does not like to lug down. The boost can come in handy for climbs, but not typical rockcrawling. As you mentioned though Chris, the light weight is a real advantage.
