    Bouse Fisherman (AZ Geoglyph)

Here's a few pics from a site I visited while vacationing in Arizona, the Bouse Fisherman. This is a geoglyph just outside of Bouse, Arizona. It possibly depicts a native indian god creating the Colorado River.

Among the locals this site is a bit debated. Some believe it is genuine and others believe it was created by some of General Patton's men. General Patton did extensive tank training in this region (Camp Bouse was a training base for war in Africa). And you can still find tank tracks in the area which are over 60 years old!

A monument at the enterence of the trail to the geoglyph.

A placard at the site. The drawing on the left is what the geoglyph actually looks like on the ground.

A couple pics I took of the geoglyph. Since its rather big (probably 30 feet in length) It was hard to get a good picture. But you can see that the spearhead is made of quartz rocks which were very different from anything in the area.

A better pic I found online of the geoglyph.

That's certainly true. RV parks for retirees dominate the area, but there is certainly a lot of area to explore. Mines, rockhounding, indian sites, geocaches, etc... there's a lot to seek out if you know what your are looking for.
