If you do build ur WJ you should join us Grand Cherokee owners to Maob next year!!
Odd that you should suggest them because it was their 4" lift with all the upgrades that I had in mind. Our big project right now is finding a house, complicated by I know just what I want in said house and have no intention of just settling for less. Spent the past 6 years of my job having to hold an apartment in Clark County and Douglas County with a third temp place in Washoe. You have no idea how forward I'm looking to being able to just call one place home right now. Before that I lived in Arizona and the company I worked for sent me all over more than I was ever home. Making less, but at least I'll be able to call one place home and be there every night, got old, looking forward to some stability even if for less pay.

You have no idea how much my son loves anything 4by or off road. He knows every Monster Truck by name, even the off the wall ones just by watching the comps and videos, over, and over and over. Do you want to watch Wall-E? No I want to watch Monster Trucks! Motocross he knows all the bikes and riders names. When we go to the local rock crawls he knows all the rigs and drivers names he hears, he hears it once and he owns it. I don't think its me starting him out, more so he's starting me. He went to his first ever mud bog at the Fallon Octane Fest and he's just been off the hook about that. I've presented him with a wide variety of experiences, but the off road stuff he just absolutely loves. Not sure where the now 1 year old is going to go, but at 1 he seems to so far being even more insane, once he gets beyond trying to eat/taste everything. I just kind of let them discover their own interests then help them as much as I can to learn more about it.

Yep the AX10 photos were at Moon Rocks, he loved Moon Rocks for the RC night crawl out there. Tells me "Parker is a silly man dad, I like him". Not a good progression though, we went from Walmart with him happy to have a 97 cent matchbox car to now he wants to instead go to the "hobby shop" (CKRC) where I seem to drop $100 every time I walk in their door.

welcome back to Northern Nevada. you will find lots of suggestions and some really good info on building your jeep on here. i'm sure that there is lots of trails that you could hit with your stocker. just find a day and time and post it in the events/trail runs thread. you'll find some guys that will take you out. good luck and hope to see you on the trail some day.

Just found this site while looking for 4x4 shops in the Reno area. I live in VA but come out this way several times a year for business. At some point I'll have to make the drive instead of flying so I can put my truck through its paces.

I've got a 2003 Dodge which is currently in the shop getting a Dana 60 (from an SRT-10) swapped in for the sh*tty Dodge 9.25 and matching 4.56's going in up front (about all I can do with the front diff). Once the axle and gears are done, I'm going to bolt on the CST UCA's and see about some full-length skid-plating. I've been trying to balance the performance mods over the years to make the truck well-rounded. Gas mileage sucks, but that's to be expected from a 3-ton brick. You won't catch me driving a Prius.

Nope, no flooding...and I live right on a tidal creek. Another 3-4 ft of storm surge and we would've been in trouble.

This is a cool thread, I guess i'll finally post after much lurking!!

I'm Brigitta, married to Glenn for 25+ years, have 3 teenagers a dog and cat. Have owned most every type of 4WD from a Suzuki Brute to the behemoth Excursion. Started wheeling with Glenn when we were dating and have been out having fun ever since. Glenn's first trip out was prenatally on the 1964 Jeeper's Jamboree. He comes from a long line of Jeeper's who were running the Rubicon in the late 1950's.

We have wheeled everywhere from the Hammers, to Dusy, Barrett lake, Rubicon, Fordyce, Moab and beyond.......

Thanks! Yea, he still has a lot of energy in him. And he just wont give up skiing. He, like my dad and myself, grew up on the water.

Hi, I am Ted from Seattle, WA. I found this site today (Thanks to Shinboi) while reserching for making a Rubicon Trail Run.

I grew up in Sacramento, joined the US Coast Guard at 17, Stationed in Seattle, fell in love with the place, met my wife of 47 years here, raised three kids (one boy and two girls) and now have three Grandsons in the area. But I return to the Sacramento area to visit family.

After the Coast Guard I went into Ship Repair and retired from that last year on May 31, just in time to go to Grand Slam West in Moab where I met Shimboi (But he may not remember me). I have always liked the Mountains, so four wheeling became a natural for a post retirement activity. I wheel a 98 Grand Cherokee Special Limited that has been lifted and running 35's. It also has habe both bumpers replaced with a winch bumper and tire carrier with tow points, and KOR Rock Sliders. Dings and dents are mounting up, but only from enjoyable places to be.

I am not able to post photos here yet, but if you go to Photo Bucket or YourTube and search for albums by 98zj4x4 you will see myself and my rig. I am involved as a Volunteer in the Development of an ORV Park in the Reiter Foothills, which is on the west side of the Cascade Mountians just off Hightway 2 and the town of Gold Bar, Wa.
