Sunday is good, Juston. I don't think the kid is going to want to ride in this weather, either. So I'm free.
The canyons aren't as difficult as those waterfalls, just a little tighter, but I've never been through them after wet weather. Going South on the way back is uphill and more difficult. Rocky fire roads between them. It's not a super long ride when it's dry.
I'm good for whatever you guys want to do.

So you want to try those canyons then? It's shorter, but I know I'll be freezing my arse off and ready to call it in sooner.
I like to start at the Damonte Substation or we could meet somewhere on South Meadows Pkwy and then head back there.

If anyone is good to go, I'd like to meet at Smiths on South Meadows about 10:30, grab some gas and head back to the hills and start around 11.
If you're not down for that, then I can always come up to Stead or Hungry valley.

Timing sounds perfect. My buddy is not crazy about those trails, but I have never run them so I'm down for something new. We might run into Bills R4X4 field trip up there tomorrow. I'll be at Smiths at 10:30.

I don't know about this white stuff! I'm not gonna be the one to call it off, so I'll be there unless I hear otherwise.

Got in a short ride today between Damonte and Lockwood. Only took about an hour w/o the boy. Took the GoPro, but I was going so slow it's kinda embarasing. Oh yeah, it was a little cold!

Got a little throttle therapy on Tuesday!
I am really liking this bike! I ended up switching the gearing back to 13/50. Top speed isn't what I'm used to on my WR, but it does great in the technical spots, and if you wind it out is still pretty fast flat out. With the 14/50 gearing I had to wind out 4th to have power in 5th, and it was too fast for almost any situation. I found myself leaving it in 4th most of the time. I'm thinking 13/49 or 13/48 might be perfect. I still don't feel like I'm as fast as on my WR but I don't get as tired. The weight difference is very apparent.

It looks like my only free day will be Sunday this weekend if anyone is up for a ride.

Here's a little video I took Sunday. Nothing special, but it was fun to play around with editing and such. Lots of rocks.

My dad is visiting for an extended weekend. So I'll have to see what comes up for Sunday.

    Not here.
I'm still trying to accamodate everyone. Dad's in town and Seth might want to ride. I might have to go to the track or Chickadee where the kid can ride and paw can hang out.

My buddy Charlie doesn't have enough range to do Chickadee to the Dog Skins and back. Plus I've ridden those trails to death. It will be an awesome ride up the canyons and some nice flowing single track out around the foothills of the Dog Skins if we stage off Winnemucca Ranch Road.

Anytime. We'll get a head count and see what works for everyone. I wouldn't mind being on the trail by 10am.

I can swing by and pick you up if you want.
