    Toyota (lunch break build)

So daily lifted f150 wasnt cutting it off road anymore. Keep it fresh and daily and buy a yota to smash.
Picked up this 84 xcab yota from a good buddy of mine ashby (Campstoveking) . It sat for about 10 years. Till drug it home in December. It was sprayed with fire retardant from a fire up by Virginia city last year.

    Dragging it to the shop

Couple lunch breaks of scrubbing with warm water and SOS pads got 90% off.

Waiting on parts , cleaned the interior out.

Lil grinder action to smooth out

Tacked together and Drill press time ( 9/16 )

Wire wheeled rear frame and rattle canned

    Pulled front end out

    New vs old

Ready to go in with new bushings / home brew 5" shackles ect ect.

    Nice lil lift

Picked up a ifs box already tapped for hydro assist for a case of keystone light. Had to reseal it and add a couple of bearings to the worm drive

Getting rid of some weight in inner fender and prepping for hi steer

Pushing box forward required some cutting of rad support

Trimmed ifs plates to fit frame lines

Drilled frame / inserts in ready to be welded and ground smooth

Ended up having to notch frame to give pitman more clearance since my mock up was wack! Once bolted up pitman bolt scraped the inside of frame. So a piece of 1.20 wall tube was cut to fit amd welded in

    Few more Craigslist parts

Some hammer work on the bumper came out pretty straight. Sanded down and painted , new carrige bolts

Again Lockwood don came through with some rollers. 35x13.5s on some 5" stock wheels lol. just for mock up not gonna see any real use.

Got my gas tank and radiator back from being tested and flushed. New rad cap as well.

    Rebuilt carb

Wire wheeled front frame amd rattle canned.

Coolant reserve mount since mount was cut out with inner fender. Chevy shifter bracket cut down with a skateboard bushing lol.

Welded bolt to gas Skid to hold ebrake lines up since stock spring hanger was cut out.

Trail gear 26" extended brake lines / new front frame shackle bushings amd a extra brake line hanger

Valve cover gasket set / intake mani gasket set / NGk plugs / thermostat

Plug wires / cap / rotor

    Intake mani off

    Adjusted valves

Playing at the shop . The 44044s are pretty stiff , need a spring or 2 taken out for sure. Also need to build a spring hanger to keep tire from stuffing fire wall and push axle forward. This is all it had before tire smashed firewall.

I'm happy with the 63s ! They have a lot more to go, but again it would make the front smash down on the firewall when attempted to go up more In rear

Suspension still needs some tweaking, But for a wrecking yard setup I'm happy overall.

Old seat I may or may not use? Its pretty much new , had it mocked up in a few cars but only about 1hr seat time. For sale if anyone's interested. 260$ from summit. Make offer.

Some lights I may use. Or put behind grill of my ford ?

Started the bob. Was tough to get Measurements due to rough / tweaked bed. But came out ok I think.

About 12.5" was taken out plus a little trimming . Got it just tacked into place to tonight. Still need to finish some trimming / cut frame at shackle mounts and box in rear frame with 3x2 square tube 1/4"

Think it will look rad when done with bob and lights in.

Looks awesome, nice work so far. It would have been sweet if you would have left the fire retardant on there and maybe clear coated over it. It did look a little like a murder scene though.

Thanks for replies. If it weren't for my boss letting me keep it at the shop and working on it on lunch breaks and such I would have lost motivation and not much would have been done. Hard to stay motivated At home with a 2 year old and a newborn.

Finished welding up the bob. Just needs a little filler now. Also cruised over to Proto fab and picked up a piece of 3x2 1/4" rectangle tube to box in frame / bumper. Hopefully if this side job happens on saturday I will put in a order for some shocks / ford shock towers / Davez lspv delete kit / and some d-rings for rear bumper.
