I don't mind active members posting discussions or questions about their guns or even selling them. My bitch is the one-posters who think this is the place to put their ads.

I understand what you're saying, Bill. Kairo posted a thread addressing it, but obviously most one-post-wonders totally ignore it. They aren't here to read threads, just post their ad and leave. I suppose Denis could filter it so new members cannot post in classifieds until they have, say 20 posts. But, we have beaten this dead horse for a while now, and it appears not much will change.

It would be nice to have a forum filter for topics we have no interest in at this time. Some type of content control a forum user can set to their liking.

I have to admit thats a good idea atleast that will let the site make some extra money off this. Id be willing to bet that the majority of one posters will bypass the site cause there to cheap and lazy. I havent posted to much stuff up for sale and dont see it affecting me. And in the future should i decide to sell my goodies; then whats the cost $15 ? Pretty reasonable. Or give them the option a certain percentage of the posted price? That may keep the price down and they can go on there merry way

That would have to restrict all "for sale" ads to Premium Members Only, even for Jeep parts or whatever. If you are a regular user of the forum you should have coughed up the $15 / year anyway. Unfortunately, some of the one-post-wonders will use "Introductions" to post their ad and these should be deleted as soon as they are detected.
Just my 2 cents...$15/year ain't much.

Just to clarify on who's able to create new threads in Firearms Trading Post (a decision hasn't been made whether to apply this to the rest of the Marketplace).

• If you are a Regular Member with less than 25 posts, you CAN NOT create a new thread.
• If you are a Regular Member with more that 25 posts, you CAN create a new thread.
• If you are a Premium Member or Vendor, you CAN create a new thread, regardless of the number of posts you have.
• Anyone can reply to an existing thread.

I will say this - I have been lurking on the forum for quite some time even before making an account. I made an account to PM and/or respond to posts as I'm more a firearms guy than a 4x4 guy...... and I think these changes are completely reasonable. Very good idea, and a good way of encouraging interaction over gouging/scamming. Heck, maybe I'll end up lurking less due to them, and make me more of a member of a community than before. Just my $0.02, for what it's worth.

Thanks for taking a stand with gun "scalpers"... they are the same dirtbags who ask $100 for a $30 game ticket, or 7K for a 3K CJ. Don't fall for the gun hype $1200 AR15s are not worth 2K+... things will settle down soon and you'll be able to buy a S&W M&P AR15 for $1250 again. This is America, we have a Constitution, and the good guys always win.
