    2006 Honda crf230 sputtering

So my dad has had this sitting in the garage for probably over a year now and hasn't touched it right after buying it so I decided I would. New battery and gas and it started up after a few tries but the idle was so low it would just die. I fixed that part and went to take it for a little test ride and it would sputter if I tried accelerating too much and wouldn't go more than probably 25 mph. I've never touched a bike before and have no idea why it's doing this. Any suggestions? Can't afford to take it to a shop either

Pull the carb and clean the jets.

I had a pit bike that would do it up hills and to much throttle. I bought a new carb for $20 and the bike ran good. It was running too rich. Check your spark plug and see what color it is.

New jets were about 3-6$. You can clean/soak a carb in pin-sol just make sure you wash it off and let it dry completely. You can move the throttle needle to, but it barely changes the jetting.

Pull it and I can clean it at the shop. About 40 bucks. But we have a good agitation bucket in the carb drum that makes all the difference. Looks new after done.

    Not mine to sell

Hopefully I'll have time to pull it tomorrow and see if that helps. Thank you for the help
