Is this your first time. If so I would recommend hooking up with a group that is coming on Friday. Drive careful. It takes about 3 hours if no issues

Slow steady pace as mike says 3 hrs. Mostly all downhill. Many miss the barker split and the dirty dozen split and if you do, bad deal...

Hi, I drive a stock '17 Jeep Wrangler Sport. I want to join this trip but I can go only up to Observation Point with my rig. I'm wondering if anyone who has empty seat can give me a ride from Observation Point to the rest of trail. I'm an experienced backpacker and have everything I need - food, shelter, water filter, etc. I'm happy to chip in for gas and share my backpacking stories. I'm on my way now. Pls call/text me 775-557-5713.

ok, I'm home, went the whole way through, trail is rough with lots of mud, very slippery and the snow dumping on us going through big sluice didn't help....Kevin and I met with Smash and Roach at Loon (by coincidence ), unfortunately Roach and another JK busted their rear divelines on the slabs and had to turn around and go back, Kevin had issues climbing up so I dragged him up the slab and lets just say that Kevin had a ROUGH day, but we got him through and teamed with my UTV guys up above Buck as they broke down the day before on Big Sluice and camped there waiting for me to come so I can secure thee way out with a blown front diff and busted steering, this morning after a big traffic jam on big sluice with bunch of stuck rigs we finally headed down slowly, dropped Kevin at dirty dozen, said hi to all and kept heading up Cadillac and out with the broken UTV, made it from Dirty dozen to the staging area in roughly 2 hours, no damage to Yota, but did bust my phone on one of the "Kevin Recovery" jumps happy to say that the Yota did what I planned it to do, drive it to Loon, take it through the Con in rough weather and condition, tackle every bonus line on it (and some as I took a wrong path up near "Arnolds Rock", got out at Tahoma and drove home hard 24 hours but fun unfortunately with the phone breaking on me, no photos hopefully Kevin got some.... Bark and the gang said hi

I know some folks are funny regarding their real names so I'll just thank all of you for your hospitality, campfire conversations, and assistance when I needed it.
I'd like to buy you all some lottery tickets in Hill's Angel's next raffle coming up or a pitcher of beer, if that works.
Pictures and vids will be up soon.
    Cheers!

Made it back home to Phoenix. Left the Dirty Dozen campground and made it to the Tahoma trailhead in about 3 hours. From there I just drove the 12 hours back to Phoenix and was home by Friday midnight. The Rubicon Trail was everything that I thought it would be and more! The rain, snow and hail added that much more to the experience. It was a great trip. In all the excitement, I realized that I did not pay anyone for my 1 night of camping. Please let me know how to square up with that. I can paypal or send a check. I also going to send a donation to the Rubicon Trail Foundation. I was very impressed with the trail and experience and would like to see that trail remaining open for future generations. Safe travels home and hopefully I will see you next year!

I also made it back to Phoenix although at a slower pace than Dennis - having a 9 yr old with you will do that. We ended up doing this trip faster than scheduled so we only spent <12 hours in camp with you all. Everyone was very friendly and helpful, I can see why you make this a yearly adventure. Thanks!

Arriving in camp after dark and leaving early in the morning, I also forgot about payment. I'm happy to send a check/paypal/whatever. Please let me know how I should send it.

    Thanks again all!

    Rubicon Scramble 2017

Since we were the last out if camp i can safely say all made it back to the staging area. It took us 2.5 hours. Doesn't that final stretch just drag. Georgia the wonder dog was very please she got to run the whole way to the staging area and is still sleeping. Here are the photos. I didn't take many.
