    Stuck FJ by tmcc

Hi guys, new to the forum. I took a wrong turn and got pretty stuck in some deep mud over by Tmcc. Is anyone willing to help out? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. 775-342-4647

Do you have a more precise location? Roughly how far to the nearest pavement or solid ground? Are you stuck up to the axles or up to the doors (or worse)? The more details you provide the more likely you are to get suitable help.

    Stuck FJ by tmcc

Well for now the plan is to wait till sunday after the mud has dried a little, its soooo soupy now that i was sinking 6-7 inches in some places. No good spot to winch from even if I could get my rig in place.

Thanks for coming to help Aaron, good to know there's still some great people out there willing to help out a stranger. Hopefully it dries out enough by Sunday. Mud is up to axles in a hard to reach spot. First time posting, but definitely makes sense to put these sorta details in! 😬

If a mostly stock JK sport.. or a RAM 1500 on really street oriented tires can help.. I should be free Sunday... RAM might make a decent anchor...(queue boat anchor jokes ;-)

although the 'established' trails tend to be a bit compacted for a firmer surface, still muddy. Getting off the trail into the virgin dirt is just quick sand. teachable moment. I can possibly help out sunday. or a dry anchored rig pull with several straps linked together.

Depending on the time, I may be able to help. No winch, but can provide anchor if needed. Don't have my rear bumper on currently so no rear recovery point for me.

Agreed. Moment you feel the vehicle sinking and/or tires start spinning you stop and reverse course post haste.

Or, you just stay on the trail and keep the "save our lands" fight to a dull roar...

This sort of off trail driving, especially close to town is a great way to invite critics which in turn closes more land...

in case you "save our lands" people are concerned, this is a road/trail, that is driven on frequently. No sense making it a big deal for them to pick up on.

Sure looks like OP is in a field, appears to be an attempted short cut or turnaround.. there seem to be established roads near there.. perhaps he just lost track of them. Yes no sense making a 'big deal' out of it, however at the same time we shouldn't prevaricate to suit an agenda one way or the other.

Thanks everyone for the feedback. It indeed is an area that has many established trails and some less established. Took a wrong turn and before I could get out of there, it was too late. simple mistake, but lesson learned. I don't normally drive off trail, and if you saw the area you'd see many tracks from plenty of drivers that have been out there.
But thanks to all who've offered to help out on Sunday! I'm free all day so whatever works for you guys, works for me. Much appreciated!

It looks like there might be some limited parking at an apartment building with I think a good access point at El Leonesio Ln and Crystal Ln 39.566962, -119.784002. Pulling from that general direction will be all downhill?

If there are more than a handful of rigs, might make sense to meet at the Winco or Home Depot parking lot and plan the approach.

not a good direction downhill. as long as the mud is a bit drier, it should be easy, just need it to firm up a bit
