Anyone own a 3rd gen Tacoma?

Like the title states. I'm looking at tires and lifts, but have some concerns on how high I can go (since its not a sfa). I want to put 33x10.5's on it.

A 3" lift is as high as you want to go. Lifts higher than that require major modifications to the truck, including cutting crossmember/frame. 33x10.5's will fit with a 3" lift but might rub on the cab mount. A "cab mount chop" is easy and solves the problem, Eric at relentless sells plates to cover the chopped cab mounts. Between myself and my friends I've lifted and put 285/75/16's on 3 third gens and one second gen now, only one third gen rubbed and it's on the cab mount.

I am running 3 1/2" - 4" of lift currently. With only some minimal trimming of plastics. No cab mount chop. I do not rub on anything. Running 285/75/16 duratracs.

Yeah, it started as a stage 4 kit, so they are the 2.0. I added 1/2" spacers in the front and cranked them up about 4 turns. In the back I swapped the springs out for the OME Dakar springs with the full length add a leaf, and the extended travel Icon 2.0 to match the front. I have been very happy with the suspension!

No trans issues either. Shitty stock shift points (auto only). once it is in sport mode (shifting with an automatic) the shitty stock shifts points no longer exist.

Have you guys seen the new aftermarket shift controller that was just released on tacomaworld? Its been getting good reviews, could be worth a look. I believe it's called "shiftsense".

I have, waiting on more reviews on that thread over there. Seems like it solves the only problem with this truck.
