I'm in. But I will be attending the SNARs meeting in Boomtown so I will probably will not make the meet-up at Scolaris. I will catch-up though.

Or you could go up Garson and start at Big Meadow and work towards HL.

I could, but where is the fun in that? The camaraderie? Heck, I could go up any day of the week and do that...

Craig, will you be monitoring Simplex or WT7A? I've never come in through the Garrison Rd. but I have maps. You got me interested in the adventure, and would be a good op to take pics from that end.

To access The trail from Boomtown:
When you go over the bridge to the freeway east bound on-ramp,
Go straight, there is what looks like a driveway that angles slightly to the right (west, never mind the signage)
Go past the house to the white gate, it should be open, leave it in whatever state you find it.
After the gate there is a staging area and after that the trail will split - to the right is a blue gate, last time I was there there was a go around if not.
Go back to the split and got left for a ways to a crossover to the main road. ALL THIS IS VERY VISIBLE FROM GOOGLE EARTH just zoom in on Boomtown.
Follow up the mountain something like 12 miles to a small bridge and a trail to the left FS 41392 (this is the HLT)
Follow it around the east side of Big Meadow stay close to the meadow, at the far end the trail vectors up hill and over the pass to HL drainage.
    do what you can.
We will be monitoring the Pevine .210 repeater and 146.560 simplex.

How about September 9-10 or 16-17 for the next trail maintenance day?

    start to the day...

hopefully fixed a drainage issue that scoured the road, partially burying the log barrier at the north end

notice the trench / erosion in the road

    signs that were installed
