They definitely have the best bang for the buck. Did Dennis already sell his?

I think that nearly everything in a 40 is Load Range C, but they still can support almost 3200 pounds each. I think that the load rating perhaps is lower as a result of the inflation pressures that are recommended? That seems to correlate better than the actual amount of weight they can support.

I ran the new Maxxis RZR MT in a 37 recently and have been impressed by how they work on the trail.

Yeah I think the RZR MT, Pro Comp, and Nitto Trail Grappler fit the bill. I have bias ply Trepadors on my Tracker and bias Creepy Crawlers on my Toyota and they are a little rough going down the road.

The Cooper STT Pro is another great option in a 40 for a rig you drive on the street.

Best tire prices I have found are at Discount Tire’s eBay store. They will match the price at their locations. Not certain if 4Wheel Parts will match Discount’s prices, but it is worth asking (I like those guys and support them as much as I can).

Like Harry said, I bet load range c would still work for you. But I’ve been looking at 40’s for my super duty, these are one of the only 40’s I can find in load range E

Ethan at 4Wheel Parts has 40” Pro Comps on his Super Duty and tows his Jeep with it pretty regularly.

I have the mt2s on my superduty and so far I really like them. Going to put the maxxis rzr on my sidekick once I get the Toyota axles in. I have access to some 40" stickies if you give up the idea of decent road manners

If you can get Red Labels for free why would you run anything else? I have sticky Treps on my Tracker and I still drive it on the street (but it is light). I had Red Label Krawlers on my Toyota for a couple years and would drive it to the Rubicon and Fordyce. I mean, sure, they wear out faster, but not enough for me to trailer to places that within an hour of home.

Literally nothing else on your rig is DOT approved, so does it matter?

I don't think you will have any problem with load range C's in a 40" tire. I would imagine the need for 40" towing rig tires is pretty small so they target their tire construction to the wheeling crowd. Wheeling with Load Range E tires kinda sucks so I get it.

I think any of the major brands will be more than up to the task. Just pick the tread you like and spend accordingly.

Agreed. If it makes you feel better, my 80 series is without a doubt heavier than your runner and I run c rated 40" trail grapplers with great luck.
