    Broken Driveshaft in Rubicon Spring

Had to leave one vehicle behind with broken driveshaft on our Rubicon trip this weekend.

Are working on getting parts together.

Would be great to have some big help to bash thru the snow on Tahoe side.

Took quite a few tugs from another group to get my small CJ thru the deeper drifts. (Thanks again for the help)

Or even is someone wants to help go around the far side......

Hoping for sooner rather than later.

    Thanks.

What kind of rig? Can you just get a driveline? Did you go in thru tahoe down to the springs? I may be avilable this weekend.

We came in Loon side and it was open but a bit wet in places.
He (4-runner) Broke just past Buck Island and I tugged him the rest of the rest of the way to the springs.
The trail is good all the way from Loon to Potato Patch above Cadillac.
From Potato Patch all the way to Lilly Lake or so has many snow covered patches that are passable with a bigger rig.
I needed quite a bit of help in the deep spots.
We hope to pick up the parts we need tomorrow. I will update when in hand.

I’ve got a rear shaft out of a 90’s 4Runner I got for parts. It’s around here somewhere..

If we get another rig or two I'm game to go in tomorrow AM. Just finished slick rock this weekend and we cut the trail all the way through. I broke a good portion of it with pbr 37s and didn't have much trouble. Still, like to have another rig or two incase I need a tug back or slide off.

Were able to get the driveshaft made today.

Agree we should have at least two for the snow just in case.

Think taking my CJ back in is more trouble than help in the snow.

Hope we can find a second for tomorrow.

    Anybody have thoughts?

Google says one hour and 21 minutes, so figure just before 11:00.

Thank you to everyone who make it out today.
What a terrific group of guys!
Appreciate the help recovering the 4Runner.
Was a great day in the sunshine bashing thru the snow.
Long day with a round trip to the springs.
Not super easy, but with a little teamwork Tahoma to the springs is doable.

    Will post pics soon.
