    1983 Kawasaki js550 Crank question

    Hoping someone with some engine building experience can help me out. I am working on a rebuild of my 1983 Kawasaki Js550 and wasn’t sure if this is normal on this crank shaft but there is a big difference between where the 2 connecting rods are attached to the crank. I am concerned with the one with the big gap an a lot of side to side play. Hopefully the pictures come through but any help with if this is ok or not is greatly appreciated.

    Apparently there is a press-fit issue with increased rod clearance gaps on these. Looks like the solution is to buy a new rod. Some fo them can possibly be rebuilt. This thread had some good info:
